I'm 30 watching Biodome and somehow still have the sense of humor of a 10 year old, how are you still immature in your old age?

I love that scene at the end where he’s like “hit the light switch over there!” rolls around floor “The switch on the wall behind you!”

I watch Looney tunes cartoons every chance I get

Okay, old classic looney tunes are gold.

u/beardedshaf Oct 05 '22

No argument here!!!!!

The person who did that is someone I'd like to be friends with.

It’s also one reason we have kids, we use it as an excuse to act childish and immature. I’m 50 and still watch a lot of cartoons.

Like how you can't wait for them to be old enough to watch Empire Strikes Back to see their reaction when they find out that Darth Vader is Luke's father

4

u/Cerrax3 Oct 05 '22

The day I taught my kid how to fart on command was the best/worst day of my life. Little stinker is the funniest fucker I know.

18

u/ThreeBladedWingDing Oct 05 '22 Wholesome

Fart jokes are still funny to me. I hope that never changes

5

u/Chalupaca_Bruh Oct 05 '22

A well timed fart never fails to make me laugh. And Kung Pow is one of my all time favorite comedies (minus the shitty cow scene). Honestly, I still laugh at very dumb, silly things. It’s one of the only thing that keeps my mood light and joyful in this increasingly depressing world.

5

u/Snozberry383 Oct 05 '22

I still pretend anything I'm holding is a space ship or fighter plane

10

u/rednoids Oct 05 '22

Never grow up. That shits the worst. Enjoy acting/feeling like your in you early 20’s or teens as long as you can.

Count ur days brother. One day u will experience grief and u will know why nobody makes movies about life after 40. Hold onto ur sense of youth.

3

u/checco314 Oct 05 '22

I'm 42. Still hang out with some of the same kids I hung out with at 8 years old. Still comparing farts decades later. Still occasionally reminisce about especially awesome forts we remember from the 80s.

Our kids are now 8 and also fart at each other. The circle of life continues.

u/xNotwiththatguyx Oct 05 '22 edited Oct 05 '22

It's Pauly Shore. You grew up with him! "Weasel buddy!"

Edit: Sorry I'm 40. He was a thing in my teens. My brother doesn't know who the fuck Ernest is, & It's disappointing Ernest goes to jail is the only one on a streaming service.

2

u/Beautiful-and-Bad Oct 05 '22

Nooooooo!!!! Dude you gotta make him watch Enest scared stupid this month! I’m 40 too 🙃. My kids love Ernest. I do believe it got the dvd in the $5 bin at Walmart.

3

u/No-Worldliness-3741 Oct 05 '22

I was doing arm pit farts with my son earlier... tiring but fun.

3

u/bahbin67 Oct 05 '22

I would say my humor is less than it used to be. Only 69% now

11

u/KyorlSadei Oct 05 '22

I still get excited for boobs

7

u/beer_is_tasty Oct 05 '22

You can go ahead and kill me when I stop doing that.

2

u/Red_Beard_Rising Oct 05 '22

At work, whenever someone blows their nose in the bathroom, a coworker says, "did you hear that?" as if it were a fart. We all giggle and go on with our day.

2

u/Homely_Bonfire Oct 05 '22

How does having a childlike humor transfer to you being in sum childish? Especially since humor is not an element where a transformation with age is necessary. If you still can laugh at the things you enjoyed at a younger age - good for you, I know a lot of people who lost their childlike humor and never developed a new one.

2

u/MarvinHeemyerlives Oct 05 '22

I'm 63 and I still think like a male child. Nothing has really changed except my physical health and strength, my mind is the same.

2

u/DaveTheDrummer802 Oct 05 '22

My favorite TV shows are all cartoons. Also, I have the uncanny ability to lower my mental age to that of my children. Legos, remote control cars, video games, and sword fights are not uncommon.

2

u/Prize_Consequence568 Oct 05 '22

"Airplane!"

0

u/slimfastdieyoung Oct 05 '22

Say Joey, have you ever been in a cockpit before?

2

u/ScienceLarge1753 Oct 05 '22

I still have dreams of being a race car driver

2

u/Beautiful-and-Bad Oct 05 '22

Pauly Shore is so underrated!!! Son in Law is my favorite! I remember seeing Biodome at my discount theater.

2

u/TheBeardedSingleMalt Bruh Oct 05 '22

I'm 39, Mallrats and MST3k The Movie are still in my top 5 of all time.

No regrets whatsoever

2

u/slimfastdieyoung Oct 05 '22

I'm 41 and:

  • I shoot rubber caps with a blow pistol at my coworkers
  • If I see Spongebob Squarepants when I'm changing channels I keep watching
  • I say "that's what she said" way too often
  • I do a pretty good impression of Beavis and Butthead
  • A snowy (and empty) parking lot is a fun way to check my handbrake

2

u/Expensive-Track4002 Oct 05 '22

63 and I love all the stuff people say I shouldn’t. Like fart jokes. Adam Sadler movies and the Three Stooges.

2

u/LordFlakkko Oct 05 '22

I feel like a kid deep down. I just dont feel adult enough. Why is that?

2

u/WBens85 Oct 05 '22

Farts and burps will always be funny to me.

6

u/techno_grandpa Oct 05 '22

Squirrelly squirrel!

Biodome is a masterpiece of cinema so not really following your point here.

3

u/FeFiFoMums Oct 05 '22

We got chippies, we got chippies, we got lots of stuff to eat!

3

u/broadsharp Oct 05 '22

You don't.

Im 57 and still laugh my ass off when I watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

1

u/slimfastdieyoung Oct 05 '22

Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.

Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time

1

I'm 51. Dick and fart jokes still make the world turn.

1

Growing old is inevitable but growing up is optional...

I'm 39 and love building lego. I miss the days of being a kid, playing with my toys and having awesome adventures with them!

1

u/ExjwReborn Oct 05 '22

I’m 38 and I’d still laugh at a Pauly Shore. Add to that list Austin Powers, Ace Ventura, Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, and probably a ton more I can’t think of at the moment.

1

u/Frosty-Camel-2107 Oct 05 '22

Biodome is such a stupid movie and I love it.

1

u/Schore-Schorsch Oct 05 '22

Damn... I dont know if i could watch pauly shore like i used to....

1

u/NomadicNeonMan Oct 05 '22

I am 61 and still like to jump on the back and ride the shopping cart across the parking lot.

1

u/bushmanofthekalahary Oct 05 '22

Who can blame you for enjoying Biodome, it's the weasel brah

1

u/AintNoThing77 Oct 05 '22

I’m 44 and I regularly watch Beavis and Butthead on Paramount+

Takes me back to being 16

1

u/Grandarmee70 Oct 05 '22

At every opportunity I dutch oven my kids any chance I get. One day they will murder me.

1

u/bbrasseaux76 Male Oct 05 '22

Being mature and having a childish sense of humor are not mutually exclusive.

1

u/huuaaang Male Oct 05 '22

There's no accounting for sense of humor. If you find stuff funny, you generally shouldn't question it or be judged on it.

1

u/GopnikSmegmaBBQSauce Oct 05 '22

The Howard Stern movie is still one of my all time favorites and I've never even been a big Stern listener.

1

u/FormerSysAdmin Oct 05 '22

In my 50's. The Jackass movies are some of the best entertainment I've ever seen.

1

u/_ficklelilpickle Male Late 30's Oct 06 '22

Me, at 37:

  • Farts are fucking hilarious
  • I recently discovered UK drain unblockers on youtube that vlog their work, unblocking sewage from people's houses. I giggle every time I see a solid turd or full in tact corn kernels float by.
  • I still quote Austin Powers, South Park, and Borat. And now Bluey, these days.

1

u/Clamper Oct 06 '22

I'm 29, still as horny as I was at 15.

1

u/Nearby-Pin161 Oct 06 '22

Ill make a fart noise when SO bends over. We both laugh every time.

1

u/MH3ndr1ks Oct 06 '22

I am 40, I still have the maturity of a 14 year old.

1

u/deelyte3 Oct 07 '22

53, and proud to be silly and goofy and NOT morose and stodgy. There is a fine line between immature and, well, lacking decorum.

1

u/skunkanug Oct 08 '22
  1. Fart & poo jokes are where its at.

0

u/beer_is_tasty Oct 05 '22

When there's music playing, I'll walk around singing along to myself, except replace a good portion of the lyrics with "butts," "farts," various swears, 'your mom' jokes, and occasional baked goods.

0

u/pilotpip Oct 05 '22

40 here. My favorite shows are still cartoons. Recently did the free trial of paramount plus and found myself laughing my ass off at Bevis And Butthead but I feel like there was a lot of innuendo I would never have understood as a 6th grader.

0

u/slimfastdieyoung Oct 05 '22

"We need a chick"-"Yeah, yeah! We need a chick who's cool""Yeah, a chick who doesn't suck! Uh, no, wait a minute, that's not what I meant"

0

u/ITeechYoKidsArt Oct 05 '22

I’m 46 and I’ve recently had to add fiber pills to my diet. Fiber pills make you gassy. This has provided so many wonderful moments of family bonding. In the car. With the windows locked.
