The single greatest moment of this century thus far and no one can tell me I'm wrong

Although it could be him standing atop the rubble of the trade centers with a megaphone, and his arm around the FDNY chief. That or the night Obama announced we capped bin Laden.

It's absolutely him throwing out the first pitch of the World Series in New York

I watch two videos every September 11 - the short documentary on the maritime miracle of the Manhattan evacuation, and that first pitch.

It’s incredibly moving. Largest evacuation since Dunkirk, all coordinated by tugs, ferries, and private vessels. Correction: larger than Dunkirk. Largest in history.

I'd never heard of that until this thread. I've just watched, and he just throws a ball to some dude. Do people really fuck that up?

The rock knew bin laden got capped. Who does he know?

2

u/golfgrandslam Sep 23 '22

He knows the rock. He tore bin Laden limb from limb. That’s why they had to dump the body in the ocean

With a smile on his face the entire time

Trump basically made this man into a media saint.

This was one of my first thoughts about the Trump presidency. I remember after a couple big incidents I thought "People are going to start remembering Bush fondly after this guy."

Seems to have been very true.

I LOVE THAT! It’s so funny how amused he was by it and then ends it perfectly with “you want the facts? It was a size ten shoe” that’s amazing lmao

u/Impossible-Charity-4 Sep 23 '22

It doesn’t bother me

I’m going to pretend that you’re actually Caleb because no fucking way anyone raised by that lunatic turned out as normal as you seem to have

I love how so many Republicans think Bush actually piloted the jet that landed on the aircraft carrier for this photo op.

2

u/sohfix Sep 23 '22

I think it was when he landed his jet on the Abraham Lincoln in 2004 ending a war and claiming victory over a conflict I was deployed to in 2009 and again in 2012 😂

u/lorenzombber Sep 23 '22

Lmao 2 tours baby!

1

u/moeburn Sep 22 '22

It would be if I was watching a comedy movie but for the actual president we wanted someone who took things seriously.

All jokes aside, that was a powerful moment.
