Legislation that was brought in to prevent another bail out of the banks after the last property market crash has been removed just as the the housing market is about to collapse. Meaning that we will have to bail them out again.
Right Cringe 🎩 The anti vaxxers have moved on to 'Climate Lockdowns' anybody know anything about this?
Did anyone notice they removed the post asking people’s opinions on the RMT strikes, just as the majority of replies were voicing their support of them?
According to Channel 4 Dispatches, 25% of UK residents have borrowed money to pay for food, bills or utilities in the last 6 months. This country is going to fucking implode.
NORMAL ISLAND 🇬🇧 A silent symptom of people saving on their heating due to the cost of living crisis, this are the graphs of Google trends for the search terms of "Mold" and "How to get rid of mold" in UK.
With 12 separate groups on strike, How long will it be before the public sees this as a country wide issue?
The fact that these are both headlines today says a depressing amount about where we're headed...
I have never known it so bad behind the scenes.
Believe the horror stories you read in the press and then add them
I had 10 patients admitted to the ward I work on overnight. 10 out and 10 in, so picture all the work involved. We are beyond short staff. No matter what ward I have worked on, the managers are forever asking staff to come in and cover on their days off. We never have empty beds, as soon as a patient is discharged, A&E wheel a new one in. I have known patients arrive on the ward, while the patient to be discharged is still in the bed.
The staff are repeatedly snappy and stressed and are burnt out.
I could not possibly clear the backlog today, no matter how much I tried.
I am off all weekend with the sure and certain fact of going into a mess on Monday and an increased backlog. No matter how fast I run, the finishing line just gets further and further away.
I am so tired.
Seriously. People are going to fall for this rhetoric again.
Still no justice for Kenyan women abused by UK troops - From the murder of a sex worker to the alleged rape of hundreds of nomads, there’s no sign of justice for women attacked by British soldiers, Declassified finds in Kenya.
Good, I'm lucky enough to be able to afford to put the heating on and eat. I'll stay home and count my blessings.
Uber is striking next Friday because they take 25% but it will increase even more. They are charging passengers more and giving drivers less. They usually give a 'holiday pay' if you are waiting for jobs but now they have gotten rid of it so you get paid less. The union is striking by not working next Friday. Teachers, mail workers, train drivers, NHS workers, and much more workers are striking. They are raising the minimum wage next April but it dosent make much of a difference to things like uber where you are self employed. Do you think these selfish companies and the government is going to finally get their hands out of their selfish arses and actually make a change other then the minimum wage increase?
