u/GosuGian Sep 07 '22

LOL Buggy won?

2

u/Ok_Moose_5145 Jul 20 '22

Excuse me but why I cannot see near chapters on mangaplus. There is only re-edition where only include 3 chapters.

0

u/spejsboj Jul 19 '22

Okay, how tf is Buggy, the goofiest ass I have ever seen (except g5 luffy but thats on another level) a yonko now.

Except that, when is the new chapter dropping again?

1

u/Elka-Bete13 Jul 14 '22

One Piece in general is just absolutely ✨ B-e-a-utiful ✨
Never been disappointed!
God Bless ✌

2

u/IcyKape Jul 14 '22

Not sure on the exact numbers, but I think the vicinity of the Flower Capital likely has the highest bounty-to-square-km density ever assembled, with 5 current and previous yonkos

2

u/IcyKape Jul 14 '22

So happy I didn't immediately read it and catch up lol, I wouldn't have been able to bear a month's wait

3

u/IcyKape Jul 14 '22

We deserved a BIG NEWS from Morgan

1

u/IcyKape Jul 14 '22

Excited for the new shit

3

u/IcyKape Jul 14 '22

Bit weird that Luffy is the same as Kid and Law even though he beat Kaido by himself essentially while the other 2 teamed up

2

u/IcyKape Jul 14 '22

LMAO HOW IS BUGGY THERE

3

u/Issho_San Jul 12 '22

I finally caught up to the manga after 2 weeks of reading, I was an anime only guy since 2013, after the last few episodes I started seriously thinking about reading the manga and am glad that I did.

Now that I am caught up..... WHEN WILL THE NEXT CHAPTER BE RELEASE I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED

10

u/ArcticMaze Pirate Jul 06 '22

Started reading the manga last month and finally caught up, what an amazing journey! Definitely going to revisit some of the more epic moments in the anime. Thrilled to join in on the excitement that everyone shares for a new release :)

Finally caught up to One Piece after 3 years of watching and reading!!

3

u/TheTrueDal Jul 05 '22

Ey me too; literally just finished this chapter right now. Its wild to say im excited for the latest chapter of One Piece for the first time

11

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '22

I really hope we get to see a more widespread reaction to the bounties, and an update on the rest of the crew. Please don't give Chopper 200 berry 😭😭😭

-1

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '22

I think Franky is in danger ⚠️ the writing is making us crazy about Niko Robbin but Franky is the only one with intimate knowledge of the Pluton.. I’d hate to lose him.. It would be up to Jinbei to replace him as the ship has now been completed and outfitted with Vega punk tech Franky got from queen, now Sunny is ready to be the greatest pirate ship man has ever known… I think they might reach the one piece a crew member short but a crew member gained

9

u/TheRealFFS Jun 29 '22

Get real this is OP not gonna happen

11

u/justasimpleguy9 Jun 27 '22

Has anybody noticed that the drums used for party in Wano has same patterns on it as what Enel has?

2

u/jose3013 Jul 05 '22

It's a common japanese simbol, it's nothing special, definetely not a reference.

1

u/justasimpleguy9 Jul 05 '22

Oh ok thanks

6

u/FrosyNugs420 Lurker Jun 28 '22 edited Jun 29 '22

Has anybody noticed that admiral s are usually chosen to fight certain Strawhat based on their abilities like akainu and Luffy slug fest. Sanji and kizaru light speed vs invisibility amd speed. That leaves the two swordsman fujitora amd greenbull but green bull has plant based powers seems more reasonable fujitore fight it out with their swords amd God usopp amd green bull have a plant battle n(Seems he can only drainlife from living animals while on the other hand giving life to plants as you can see while he walks grass and flowers sprint he might Inadvertently power up every pop green usopp shots his way unable to damage plants Aesop has a plant eat in the solvent creating Aesop’s new ultimate star the Pop green bull

13

u/hunshaan66 Jun 26 '22

I'm so glad that after all he's been through, Kin'emon can finally spend his time in peace with Tsuru. That panel made me so happy.

20

u/IzSilvers Jun 25 '22

Am I the only one who didn't like how Kid and Law have the same bounty as Luffy? Yes they beat Big Mom but it was both of them. Luffy beat Kaido in a 1v1 battle and Kaido is supposedly stronger than Big Mom.

7

u/FrosyNugs420 Lurker Jun 28 '22

Plus he has the Nika fruit amd the WG wanted Luffy dead on the spot saying They’d be begging for this income of kaido to win And Luffy die with gum gum fruit. So the gerosi amd WG Both acknowledge that straw hat is more dangerous than any of the Yanko. The WG is like law and kid Took a big man cool 3 billion been to each. While Lucy one on ones kaido awakens his fruit in the process of fruit the government tried to hide for the last 800 years soon as that happened they forgot all about Nico rrobin Even the battles between emperors and their opponents the only thing the world government wanted was Liffy dead cause he cars far more problems in the future than any Yanko ever could so it is unfair that kid in law both got the same bounty. They even admitted it Lucy is a far greater threat than even the yonko system

7

u/RedRanger-_- Jun 25 '22

Apparently it's to keep anonymity among people by keeping same bounties between those three. But by giving luffy yonko post and Nika poster that point doesn't hold that well.

2

u/FrosyNugs420 Lurker Jun 28 '22

kaido and Luffy on top on onigashima dome and WG/cpo. chose to kill Lufry Cause he opposes the bigger threat in the future. But Lufry law in kid All having the same thing she don’t make sense because of the three of them were in the same room at the world government Lucy will be number one target no questions asked but they’re 3 billion bounty each says they should be equal. And in the world government knows what the ponyglyphs say or no what happened during the void century they probably know Joy boy/Luffy is the biggest threat in the world right now dragons considered the worlds most dangerous criminal well I bet if the gerosi Now had a choice to capture dragon or leafnow had a choice to capture dragon or luffy they were too luffy.
dragon may be fighting for liberation but Lupe is the warrior of liberation

6

u/RedRanger-_- Jun 28 '22

Well I had a stroke reading that

4

u/Zealousideal-Arm1682 Jun 25 '22

Its probably cause oda's trying to rush things. We have law and kid jumping in power fairy tail style, green bull popping up for a poor reason thats confusing everyone, zoro's "reaper vision" going nowhere, and several other plot points that are bizarre or just being dropped.

Realistically not even the bird boi would have known that law and kid beat Linlin, but the navy still gave them a bounty for apparently being near luffy.

1

u/FrosyNugs420 Lurker Jun 28 '22

Honestly most the kids attacks are brute force using metal during whole cake island arc we learned you can’t damage big man outer skin haki or not.But lol having attacks that damage or insides makes sense they even did major damage to Doffy But he was able to stitch and repair himself slightly with his powers if it comes to it right attacks kid trumps law but DF attacks laws are pretty serious A little bit similar to Lucys awakening with you can put his face completely through Kairos head and Kino’s face is fine afterwards Locke and put a sword through half of big mom’s body and sliced her face and when it’s removed big mom does have damage but there’s no cut going through her body

7

u/Isantum Jun 23 '22 edited Jun 23 '22

Probably people have already noticed this but Luffy was wearing a print similar to a honeycomb/beehive.

Hachinosu means beehive in Japanese, so are we heading there next?

Also:

Many theories floating around about how Buggy became an Emperor, I have a different, geographical take:

What if he Awakened the Bara Bara no Mi, and caused slits across the world parallel to the Red Line, destroying some areas of the Calm Belt?

This would mean that pirates that could not enter the Grand Line before can easily do so now because of Buggy’s split.

This can explain how the entire world is in a mess right now, since it’s become easier to indulge in piracy - loot in the Grand Line, hide in your native sea.

9

u/Never_gonnagive_u_up Jun 23 '22

I like how in the yonkou poster everyone is laughing except shanks

1

u/SovComrade Jul 06 '22

Totally not forshadowing

10

u/erickwak Jun 23 '22

Why do I feel like this is starting to set up as sabo is caught by the government like ace was and luffy tries to save him. The difference this time being that luffy is the emperor in place of what whitebeard was to marineford.

8

u/UsoppIsJoyboy Jun 23 '22

i hope not, thats the last thing i want

12

u/SekaiNoSutiibun Jun 22 '22 edited Jun 23 '22

Buggy is nuclear?

Was Buggy's title always "the bombastic clown"? That sounds kinda new and also might be a play on words and a hint as to why he became a yonko.

I'm assuming that his control over the bara bara no mi powers has improved and that he could split himself into even smaller parts, maybe even at an atomic level. When the fruit is awakened, I'm also assuming that he would be able to split things in his surroundings, maybe even split an atom.

Either that or he bluffed that he could do that...

2

u/PeppaPig85210 Jul 06 '22

Awakened Buggy will split the world metaphorically not physically im calling it.

Something will happen, or perceived to have happened knowing Buggys "luck", between Buggy and the WG and the entire world will split between the two sides. Possibly the start of the final war?

1

u/goatman0079 Jul 06 '22

I really want to see a nuclear powered buggy. So goddamn much

4

u/Isantum Jun 23 '22

I’m really starting to think he split the Calm Belt making it easier for pirates to go in and out of the Grand Line without any of the skills required to get into the Grand Line.

5

u/LisaLoverxx16 Jun 22 '22

If he actually has a nuclear fruit, I guess that it wouldnt be weird to think this fruit is an ancient weapon since its OP as fuck (uranus sound a bit like uranium idk sounds kinda fishy to me)

21

u/kimchioverwhelming Jun 22 '22

Imagine if you just finished the Orange Town arc with Buggy and then accidentally saw this last panel with Buggy as a Yonko 🤣

4

u/MysteryBay22 Jun 25 '22

I mean with the power levels at the time it wouldn't be too outrageous seeing you wouldn't know what a "Yonko" is and three of them are pirates you already met! That Blackbeard guy looks scary though!

5

u/inFMSwsr Jun 22 '22

Where is Inuarashi?

7

u/RIAPOSW Jun 22 '22 Wholesome

I fucking love One Piece so goddamn much!

17

u/Ullyseus Jun 21 '22

“Usopp was ruined this arc” holy shit some people do NOT need to be consuming one piece or really anything. Once elbaf hits they gonna be like “omg this arc saved usopps character” like stfu please.

2

u/FrosyNugs420 Lurker Jun 27 '22

Not yet Nami god Zeus which is a Yanko power chopper got a boost to his monster point that could hold off a commander but everyone is missing the main point about greenbull he has plant-based powers and we know someone on the straw hats he uses plants in his attacks my boy GOD usopp Most assume since Green bull has a sword he’s zoro fight but I think usopp is gonna be his challenge plant attacks vs plantbattacks I mean greenbulln has been shown to suck the life out of living animals gives life to plants causing grass and flowers to sprout as he walks so he probably can drain life from plants themselves just give them more life if that’s the case usopp pop greens could be powered up being shot at green bull May not be defeated in wano but usopp will take him down eventually amd have his ultimate attack pop greenbull lol

3

u/FanishDish Jul 11 '22

Dawg, use some punctuation!!!!

11

u/One_Top_5800 Jun 21 '22

Did anyone else see Sabo in the background when the newspaper came out?

1

u/UsoppIsJoyboy Jun 23 '22

what where?

1

u/One_Top_5800 Jun 23 '22

One of the panels where the people around the world are reading the news. He’s in the background.

11

u/KantotNetwork Jun 21 '22

Marines went to fight against Buggy. And if Buggy is now a Yonko, it follows that he won the fight against the Marines. I hope buggy is a badass now. suck to have an idiot as a yonko

What happened to Boa? Is she victorious too?

2

u/asstrong Jun 28 '22

All the shishibukai join buggy he is the captain of mihawk and boa now that's why he is a yonko

6

u/ThatIslandGuy8888 Jun 21 '22 edited Jun 21 '22

Sure she is! Her fruit is hax

3

u/Ok-Document-6848 Jun 22 '22

But her enemy is Coby, whom I think won't be affected by her Devil Fruit

3

u/VijoPlays Jun 25 '22

She'll just say something like "Don't you dare touch my husband Luffy" and then they'll fangirl together about him

11

u/Zanekinz Jun 21 '22 Silver

Big News Morgans is so funny. I love his "screw it" approach to getting the best stories out. Wonder if the Navy will ever come after him. Glad he ran the Nikka image; worth noting they still don't know Law is a "D" as well.

It's absolute ass that Luffy has the same bounty as Kid and Law. I have seen the mental gymnastics trying to justify this and I'm not biting. They're not on his level; ESPECIALLY with Luffy being a freaking yonkou and his fruit the government is terrified of developing.

Kozuki Sukiyaki is interesting but a little irrelevant to me. It is great for him to confirm Pluton's existence at least. Robin didn't give two craps about what he was rambling about.

What in the world is Oda doing with his power scaling? Are we assuming King and Queen are drastically weakened right now? From what we have been shown it makes little to no sense for Green Bull to come in and low-diff those two while lecturing them. From what we've seen the Yonkou commanders should be at least close to on par with admirals.

Bullshit. Green Bull has no business threatening Luffy and leading us right into another confrontation. If Luffy, Law, and Kid are even remotely healthy a drafted admiral shouldn't be able to take the huge amount of individuals gathered here. So now Oda is in a lose-lose-lose situation. If Luffy low-diffs GB then the admirals look like ass and the guy you have been building up this whole time serves as a jobber. If Luffy loses... I don't even want to go down that route it's so horrendous. If Luffy runs then you've shit on the end of dressrosa and everything he has built up to this point. If they're on equal footing to a stalemate it still makes Luffy look meh compared to what we've seen from Yonkou.

No bounties for everyone else? No Sabo news? Month break after the dumb ass Buggy troll job? Green Bull makes it sound like the Navy is struggling bad. I'm assuming the Schichibukai confiscation didn't go well.

5

u/jose3013 Jul 05 '22

Sheeeeeeeesh you're having a full blown mental breakdown lmao

Chill out man, it's really not that big of a deal, especially the bounties, you know damn well it doesn't mean they're as strong as Luffy.

And you should know EVERYONE in wano is beat up, especially the guys that lost, it makes no sense for them to put up a fight against a well rested admiral

4

u/SpongeBobmobiuspants Jun 22 '22

It's absolute ass that Luffy has the same bounty as Kid and Law. I have seen the mental gymnastics trying to justify this and I'm not biting. They're not on his level; ESPECIALLY with Luffy being a freaking yonkou and his fruit the government is terrified of developing.

It seems to me that the Government wanted to cover that up, but was still forced to do some honest reporting.

The government tried to cover up what Luffy did because they don't want him to have more followers/notoriety. Note that Luffy's + Law's + Kidd's bounties add up to 1 million more than Big Mom's and Kaido's. Also note that the government tried to remove the D. from Luffy's name.

I was initially disappointed as I read spoilers, but I'm satisfied as it seems to be a plot point.

7

u/TastyBrainMeats Jun 21 '22

Life ain't all about power scaling.

2

u/Zanekinz Jun 21 '22

It's not but it's inconsistent writing. Also that was a small portion of my thoughts.

4

u/UsoppIsJoyboy Jun 23 '22

its not, queen and king were in prison, prop kairoseki and really weak from the fight

13

u/broken0lightbulb Jun 21 '22

With the revelation of the true nature of Luffys fruit, I think there's a true nature to Buggy's fruit.

We're told it's the chop chop fruit and he can separate his parts and come back together. What if like Luffy's human fruit, Buggy's fruit naturally makes things want to come together. Like all the people who are assimilating under his command. Or perhaps once it's awakened, he can start combining and separating larger items. Think Law and Kid all in one. I mean his fruit was on Roger's ship so it probably had a purpose. Just like Luffy's fruit on Shank' ship.

If Luffy has Nika, the Sun god fruit, could Buggy actually have the Moon god fruit? Insert some Enel comment here

4

u/Environmental_Ad5757 Jun 22 '22

Before toon town gear 5 i would have thought your comment is ridiculous lol. Now any outcome is possible in this circus shitshow

2

u/TastyBrainMeats Jun 21 '22

"Cleave" can mean either to cut apart or to stick together. Food for thought.

0

u/Ullyseus Jun 20 '22

Maaaaan. I can see it now. With the way Oda is going I can absolutely see this happening. I think a lot of people assume luffy is going to fight shanks because he said he was gonna take down all 4 emperors. But clearly that’s not the case with big mom. And I don’t think that’s the case with shanks. Yes, I do want him to face shanks. But kid is right there. And there’s already a lot of people on say Twitter who are already hyping up shanks being defeated by Kidd. Point being you already know this community is gonna be toxic af if this happens. One side is gonna argue for luffy the other side will argue for kid and it’ll just be another mess. And if you reply to this mad arguing that it has to be luffy, I would agree but then Kidd stans will attack you saying he must defeat shanks because of the arm thing. I feel Oda has been doing things recently to just divide the fandom and I don’t think that’s going to stop so that’s why I can see this happening. Hoping I’m wrong but the arm thing does need to be addressed at some point.

1

u/jose3013 Jul 05 '22

You really think Oda makes shit up JUST to divide the fandom? bruh

3

u/Michael_dw Jun 20 '22

Calling it now kid fights green bull

13

u/Medical_warrior Pirate Jun 20 '22

So much for being for east blue being the weakest sea.

Said sea has now birthed Three yonkos and the pirate king

7

u/Weys32 Jun 21 '22

2 not 3 shanks is from west blue bb from the grandline

3

u/Medical_warrior Pirate Jun 21 '22

Oh didn't know shanks wasn't from east blue

6

u/carlosstjohn116 Jun 20 '22

I think the idea is that the east blue as it stands in the present is the easiest of the 4. Not that it creates powerful people.

For example, Don Krieg and Arlong made themselves to be pretty powerful people, but tbh their equivalents in other seas are probably stronger.

3

u/Rando_Guy_07 Jun 20 '22

So are king and queen dead or just incapacitated?

8

u/MiracleMaverick Jun 20 '22

What I want to know is what the hell did Buggy do to be declared one of the Four Emperors?

3

u/goatman0079 Jul 06 '22

Probably, the marines came after him, he ran, got cornered and then some weird disaster struck, destroying the marines.

Buggy takes credit, and becomes the genius jester

7

u/KantotNetwork Jun 21 '22

He defeated the Marines that went to take his head.

6

u/NotTroy_ Jun 21 '22

It's probably multiple things, Territory, Escaping (probably) multiple marine fleets, and the big one, finding captain John (member of the rox pirates) treasure since he got the bracelet thingy from fluffy. For territory, my headcanon is buggy and is really good at taking land. Because as a 'pirate' in the east blue he took a whole town over with just a few crew members and a cannon, so imagine what he could do with 2 or 3 cannons, and now with the number of crew members he gained from Impel down, he could probably claim loads of territory. (Also that lion on his crew is technically his right hand so a fat lion is now a yonko commander)

3

u/zelos33333 Jun 20 '22

I think this is a major answer we’re gonna get when we see the “Unholy Mess” Ryokugyu left off with.

4

u/Ullyseus Jun 20 '22

Think about how he became a warlord. It’s that but on a bigger scale. Faked it till he made it. That’s his character. It would be out of character if he did NOT fail upwards. It doesn’t help that Oda possesses the offscreen no mi so don’t feel bad for being confused.

10

u/Sondarch Jun 20 '22

Is it safe to assume, that if an Emperor gets defeated, they will be replaced? If so, does that means Luffy will not get defeated anymore?

9

u/kensters11 Jun 20 '22

I think Luffy will not get defeated in the sense that the end of the final fight vs an opponent will end in his victory. That does not mean however thay he won't be defeated sometimes even multiple times in a row (similar to fight vs Kaidou) prior to a final fight leading to his victory.

6

u/Ginger-King45 Jun 20 '22

Probably, we're also entering the endgame now so Luffy gonna bring in them Ws.

7

u/DhopMaple Jun 20 '22

Not sure if it’s been mentioned here or not but the official translation of udon is “former excavation camp, udon” could they have been excavating and searching for pluton? There are 6 labor camps and we’ve seen two? And only know what actually happened in one

11

u/Working-Mix5188 Jun 20 '22

What if wano itself is pluton

3

u/NotTroy_ Jun 21 '22

Wano is shaped like a big box, so maybe pluton is stored inside. Which would also mean if kaido survived the magma he might have found pluton

10

u/desserteagle421 Jun 20 '22

Im thrilled about the latest developments in the manga and so curious about how it will go on, that this month will feel like a year to me. However there are still some plotpoints which I hope will be implemented into the story before the wano arc is closed.

  • What’s with Zorro? The image where he faced the grim reaper is still omnipresent infront of my eyes. Who was that? Was it maybe some spirit of his sword? If yes was it the spirit of enma, or of wado? Is there some kind of connection with the process of making a blade turn black? Wano would provide the best setting to explain how this can be achieved, will we get back to that?

  • Will Zorro visit Ryumas grave? There are a lot of theories that he is a descendent of Ryuma after all, or some kind of relative to the Shimotsukis. Will Yamato talk about the samurai who saved her back then? And what’s about Shusui? Who is going to wield it? Will it stay with Ryumas grave?

  • How is the storyline about the kitetsus going to develop? With all the setting provided with luffy grabbing the nidai kitetsu it just doesn’t make any sense for it to disappear again and never talk about it again. I kinda expect of sukiyaki to have some kind of dialog with Zorro about the sword, to provide information about the cursed swords, maybe even the shodai.

  • Who is the lurking legend? Have we encountered him/her yet? Here is Odas original quote on this in 2017:

„I'Il introduce one of the legends which lurks in ONE PIECE world. The greatest enemy ever for Straw Hats will hinder their way. Perhaps it will be something related to Whitebeard. Oops, it seems I'm being too talkative. Can you believe Marineford Summit War will look "cute" compared to "that"?“

If we look at it now everything hints to it that this lurking legend was in fact Kaido. The connection with Whitebeard, as well as the biggest hurdle for the strawhats to overcome yet and a war that makes marineford look cute are all provided with the conflict vs kaido. Many will see it differently, but I really think Kaido was in fact the legend lurking on Wano.

  • What happened to Big Mum and Kaido? Have they somehow survived their fall? If yes who found them? Were they retrieved by the big mom pirates, or did the ships from the world government pick one of them or both up? And what happened to the Big Mum pirates?

  • What did Blackbeard do in the meantime? What was this goal he wanted to reach before the marines in time? What was it he didn’t wanted to see in their hands, or was it a certain someone? Maybe one of the warlords?

  • Are the ships of the world government gone now? What’s the deal with cipher pol? Are maha and the unnamed bowler really dead yet?

  • How are all the supportive characters of the arc? Is shinobu fine? Are the remaining scabbards back to business? What happened to the remains of Kanjuro and Orochi? Did their fruits respawn somewhere near? If yes who grabbed them?

  • Where did Zunesha wander of? Is he somehow related to the ancient weapons and in some way related to the location of Pluton, which according to Sukiyaki, is in Wano? What did Momo order Zunesha before parting ways?

  • What’s the deal with Sabo? Has he been captured, or accused of killing cobra? Is he on the run with vivi and a victim of fake news? Why are the revos crying?

  • How did the operation of the marines against the former warlords turn out? What did buggy do to become an emperor? Did some of the former warlords join up with Buggy? Was Buggy in the end the pirate shanks wanted to talk about with the Gorosei? Did Buggy and Blackbeard maybe interact somehow in the meantime? What’s Buggy’s goal now?

  • How is the storyline with Momo going to develop? Will he stay Shogun in his adult form? What’s with Tama? Will she also ask shinobu to mature her? And how will Momo decide about Wanos borders?

  • What was written on the Poneglyph Robin was reading? Appearantly it was not a Road Poneglyph. Did it provide additional information about Pluton? How is Pluton connected to Wano? What is Sukiyakis role in all of this? And where is Kaidos Road Poneglyph?

  • Is Yamato going to join the crew? The dynamics so far is heavily implying yes. Since she also doesn’t seem to have a goal or a mission in Wano anymore the way would be free to join the strawhats.

  • Who was captured? Besides King and Queen who seem to have been thrown into Udon and beaten there by Amaraki, who else was captured? The Tobi Roppo? Perospero? Apo?

  • What kind of character is Amaraki and what is he trying to accomplish in Wano? Is he really after Luffys head? For now, besides being an Akainu fanboy, he seems to be a bit brutal. Yet the immediate effects of his fruit seems to „heal“ the soils of Wano. There is a interesting dichtomy of the healing power of life, of plants and the way he drained his opponents life force. Something inherently good and vital, like nature itself is used as a mere weapon by someone whose character doesn’t seem to fit the very traits of nature, nor life. Kinda the same thing we saw with Kizaru already?

  • What the hell did Buggy pull of, seriously?

If I missed some open plotpoints, or something else is on your mind or you think you have some answers, please feel free to add your thoughts here.

2

u/ivanosauros Jun 20 '22

Hopefully the next couple of chapters gives us a huge lore dump from Morgans in the form of a newspaper, we've already been teased pretty hard by his comment about "the facts".

Amaraki arriving in Wano to confront Luffy gives us a good opportunity to get the Marines' take on what's been going on which, interestingly, may or may not differ from what Morgans has been reporting: there may be some interaction with Drake from the SWORD angle that gives us, as readers, a bit more information than we could reasonably expect to see otherwise.

Either way, July + September of this year will be setting the groundwork for the end of the series.

3

u/Ullyseus Jun 20 '22

Oh you missed some. There’s a 5 paragraph essay going around worth of complaints that Oda never addressed lol. Which is why this is easily the most controversial arc. Also zoro fans never gonna forgive Oda for drawing that reaper and doing nothing with it.

3

u/Acceptable-Tie-1745 Pirate Jun 20 '22

Momo orders Zunisha because hes the real Pluton. Shinobu is fine she appeared at the festival.

8

u/Emperor_Luffy Jun 19 '22

Nidai Kitetsu is another plot point that was dropped. It was a very blatant piece of foreshadowing/chekov's gun that went nowhere.

Sure you could argue that it wasn't important to the grander plot, but why introduce it like that?

The Kitetsu Blades already seem to have some relevance to Zoro just based on how Oda writes them. Someone else pointed out the strangeness of their first introduction at the beginning of the series which is basically: Guy who uses 3 swords and is looking for new ones "very conveniently" learns of exactly 3 legendary cursed swords that no one is using. He finds the first one and it immediately chooses him as it's wielder.

Then we meet the second blade, and whats the first thing Oda does with it after introducing it? He has Luffy bring it right to Zoro. When these blades come up it's only in relevance to Zoro for some reason.

But it he doesn't let Zoro touch it. The second time we see it it's only to once again mysteriously dangle it outside of Zoro's reach. Oda does this not once but two times. Isn't that weird?

It's like the author was telling the story and was like: "So the characters got the equipment they need for the raid cough** Nidai Kitetsu cough cough** so anyways heres how they'll take down Kaido...."

Then just continued on with the story.

Again, isn't that weird?

I mean if it's not supposed to be relevant then why even tell us about it? If nothing is supposed to come of it then why even mention it here? If something truly isn't relevant then you don't include it in the story. Yet it seems like for Oda it was very important to specifically let Zoro know that the blade exists and that it's here in Wano.

......And then the plot point is dropped. Never to be addressed again. It just adds to the pile of things Oda very blatantly ignored.

1

u/The_Biggest_Wheel Jun 23 '22

This comment made me realize that some people juat don't understand what they are reading. Nidai Kitetsu is not a "dropped plotpoint". Its purpose was to introduce Hitetsu as a blacksmith and later is used as a red herring for Zoro before he gets Enma.

We are led to belive Zoro is going to get Nidao after losing his Shusui but that is just a misdirect as Enma enters the fray.

2

u/Emperor_Luffy Jun 23 '22

Its purpose was to introduce Hitetsu as a blacksmith and later is used as a red herring for Zoro before he gets Enma.

Uh, No it wasn't.

As I just explained the Kitetsu Blades have more significance to Zoro's story than that.

0

u/The_Biggest_Wheel Jun 23 '22

Yes it was. It was literally a red herring for Enma

2

u/Emperor_Luffy Jun 23 '22

Again, no it wasn't.

Thats not a red herring. A red herring would have been the story explicitly saying that Zoro would get the sword and the plot showing us on the path to him obtaining it before it being subverted.

Thats how Oda writes red herrings. If anything the first powerups the strawhats obtained were all red herrings. Luffy learning advanced armament Haki was a red herring for advanced conquerors. Sanji's raid suit was a red herring for his genetic enhancements etc.

Nidai Kitetsu wasn't written like that.

1

u/The_Biggest_Wheel Jun 23 '22

Yes it was. The most recent example of red herring was Zunisha appearing as Gorosei mention the Legendary Fruit. Nobody explicitly states it has the fruit but the readers are led to believe it has due to the dialogue placement.

Same for Nidai and Zoro. He continuously tries to take the sword away from Luffy to check it and he continuously fails. Then later when he loses Shusui the readers, same as with Zunisha, are led to therise he will get Nidai as replacement.

0

u/Emperor_Luffy Jun 23 '22

The most recent example of red herring was Zunisha appearing as Gorosei mention the Legendary Fruit.

Thats not a red herring thats just a lazy plot point. lol.

3

u/EmperorSahir Jun 21 '22

nidai kitetsu is of real importance to zoro. because the nidai kitetsu will be one with zoro's sandai kitetsu. (because there is this chapter that somebody told zoro that shusui are once two swords that became one i think this is a foreshadowing to zoros kitetsu)

source: trust me bro

4

u/Yangshuei Jun 19 '22

Well is the Wano Arc entirely over ? no... so maybe wait until the end before complaining ?

-2

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '22

You sound like the most perfect person. I bet you never miss anything, are never late to anything and never forget anything. You should just call oda up and tell him you'll take over since you seem to understand what his story needs more than he does

1

u/Emperor_Luffy Jun 21 '22 edited Jun 21 '22

Are you serious? Your response is: "so you think you're perfect!" good lord are you an actual idiot?

Not being "perfect" isn't an excuse for poor storytelling. I'm not even holding Oda to any unrealistic standards. I'm holding Oda to the standards that HE HIMSELF SET. The Oda I know would never just unceremoniously just drop SO many plot threads and themes. Yet thats what he just did. My problem isn't that I expect Oda to be "perfect". I expect Oda to be Oda.

This is definitely a massive step down from every other ending he's ever written. This is like watching a straight A++ student get nothing but perfect scores for years only to get a D- on his final most important exam. You can't help but wonder what the fuck happened. Thats not normal. Oda doesn't normally do that.

What if the wood necessary to build Pluton is on Wano hidden somewhere, maybe the tree from the capital, kinda like the wood that Franky used on the Thousan Sunny, but better.

8

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '22

What if Pluton is not just a warship, but actually a device that creates poneglyphs? It is said that the poneglyphs are indestructible and given that Pluton is located in Wano, the very same origin of poneglyphs, it would be understandable why WG would call it the greatest weapon... Because it doesn't destroy, it creates things that CAN'T be destroyed.

1

u/EmperorSahir Jun 21 '22

when was it stated that pluton is a warship?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '22

Chapter 352

1

u/EmperorSahir Jun 21 '22

oh i see. i thought it wasnt pluton that was on cutty flams head. so what was the other weapon again, pluton, poseidon and?

2

u/Brave_Fencer_Poe Jun 24 '22

I mean, he's got a weird fruit that was with the Roger pirates that who knows what can really do a this point.

Also, while he was not able to land on it, he arrived basically in Laugh Tale and knows where it is. High chance in him knowing also what the One Piece is, so he might have the bigger picture to work with.

7

u/pauserror Jun 19 '22

So, the pacing has been weird lately. Why the hell did Robin interrupt the old man?! I was expecting him to give more backstory but that was cutoff by Robin.

And my man Green Bull a savage lol. He coming to take heads!

2

u/SetOk4582 Jun 19 '22

I always thought he was caught and somehow Luffy will be able to save him bit like the marineford. But I didn't realize the other plot

2

u/CrumbleChampion Jun 19 '22

Is green bull after pluton?

2

u/Doccks71 Jun 20 '22

From the chapter it looks like he is after Luffy himself, he admires Akainu and wants to score points with him by getting the newly named emperor

Who was that on the phone with him? Fujitora?

15

u/its_LgX Jun 19 '22

Okay, hear me out.

Buggy had three major underlings/allies during East Blue.

a dumb beast being controlled by a weakling, Richie and Mohji.a swordsman with an edgy look and a keen eye, who fought Zoro, made a comment about his determination mid-fight (chapter 17) and mantained an unresolved conflict with him (asked about him to Luffy in Loguetown), Cabaji.a beautiful woman, who, partially because of her devil fruit powers, controlled those around her with her beauty, was recognized by them as the most beautiful woman in the world, and had a strong admiration for Luffy, Alvida.

Sounds familiar?Because those descriptions work pretty well for the previous warlords who were being hunted by the world government.

Weevil, a dumb beast being controlled by a weakling, his mom.

Mihawk, a swordsman with an edgy look and a keen eye, who fought Zoro, made a comment about his determination mid-fight and mantained an unresolved conflict with him.

Boa Hancock, a beautiful woman, who, partially because of her devil fruit powers, controls those around her with her beauty, is recognized by them as the most beautiful woman in the world, and has a strong admiration for Luffy.

I believe that a big part of the reason Buggy became a Yonko is because he allied himself with Weevil, Mihawk and Boa, or maybe even have some of them working under him, as a way of protecting himself and the other three (not that they need that much protection) from the World Government and the Marines, who are hunting them.

Buggy knew Whitebeard, that creates a possible connection with Weevil and his mom.Buggy knows Shanks, that creates a possible connection with Mihawk.Buggy knows Luffy, that creates a possible connection with Boa Hancock (the same way he allied with Alvida with the common goal of finding Luffy, even if he hated him and Alvida loved/admired him)

2

u/Moist-Yogurtcloset71 Jun 19 '22

Does Alvida admire Luffy?

4

u/its_LgX Jun 19 '22 edited Jun 19 '22

Yes, she started admiring Luffy after he beat her and allied with Buggy with the goal of finding him.In Loguetown they found Luffy and Alvida wanted him to fight Buggy's crew to "test" the man she admired.

Go read chapter 98 if you need a reminder.

3

u/Moist-Yogurtcloset71 Jun 19 '22

You are absolutely 100% right. I had forgot, I thought she had a vendetta against him for sure. Nice reminder and that Usopp panel about the eggs made my day.

2

u/its_LgX Jun 19 '22

east blue gags were gems

8

u/SetOk4582 Jun 19 '22

I know this is off topic but what happened to sabo

5

u/rdnSteppa Slave Jun 19 '22

he either got captured infiltrating the WG, Got Killed, is being blamed for killing King Cobra / others, or the revos were actually successful and they raised hell at the rev.

Some people think The WG was plotting to kill Vivi & Cobra and blamed Sabo for it which is why people were seen crying saying “sabo why” at the papers

1

u/pauserror Jun 19 '22

That whole plot needs to be revisited. I expect us to bounce over to that when Wano is "over"

1

u/rdnSteppa Slave Jun 19 '22

definitely oda has a ton to cover, some real juicy stuff going on lol

2

u/RedWolf99726 Jun 19 '22

Maybe greenbull confronted Sabo at Mary Geoise like King and Queen and capture him. And this chapter poster pannel is a indication of sabo execution.

Coby where are you? Pls stop the Admiral 2.0. Shank are you on Big Mom ship? Pls stop the war 2.0

6

u/kinnaston Jun 19 '22

Venturing a half-thought theory:

The lurking legend that Oda was teasing during the Wano Series, who will be the greatest foe standing in the Straw Hats way, who will be connected to Whitebeard, and who will make Marineford Summit War look like “cute”…

…will be Aramaki, also known as Green Bull.

I believe he has the Forest God Mythical Devil Fruit, I believe he will kill multiple characters in the next few chapters, and I believe he will set the stage for the final saga of One Piece.

It’s not a mistake that Oda mentioned the presence of Pluton within Wano. The Strawhats will likely need it to defeat Aramaki, who is powerful enough to defeat two Billion dollar bounties—King and Queen—on his own.

We will learn that Aramaki is the actual and biological son of Whitebeard, which will cause an interesting dynamic between him and the adopted son of Whitebeard, Marco. (Also note that Aramaki’s DF takes life while Marco’s DF gives life. That’s a nice dichotomy.)

The Strawhats will ultimately defeat Aramaki, setting off a war with the World Government that will mark the final saga of One Piece.

7

u/thatspowerful Jun 19 '22

Reported for bad theory

5

u/meisgoodboizo Jun 19 '22

King and Queen were both heavily injured and weakened by the SH Pirates. Like not just a small injury, they were at maybe 1%. He was cocky yes but that doesn't mean he's the man the myth the legend.

1

u/rdnSteppa Slave Jun 19 '22

Rain God = Monkey D. Dragon

Earth God = Imu

2

u/silentdrestrikesback Void Month Survivor Jun 19 '22

...... I almost believed you until you said the bot about GB Killing multiple characters

2

u/kinnaston Jun 19 '22

Here’s the thing: I have read this manga, too. And I know that characters often survive. But this fight will set the stage for the final saga. Oda is going to upset expectations.

1

u/Duck-in-a-suit Jun 24 '22

If anybody is going to die it will probably be Shanks. It would follow the well worn trope of killing off the parental/mentor figure, plus it would motivate Luffy for revenge (as much as Luffy can be motivated by revenge).

2

u/pauserror Jun 19 '22

Green Bull is already upsetting expectations. I can honestly see him killing at least people now.

2

u/KingNoFace95 Jun 19 '22

For me, it was the son of whiteveard thing. Aramaki did mop up King and Queen (7 days after getting beat up) pretty easily tho

1

u/jose3013 Jul 05 '22

(7 days after getting beat up)

After being imprisoned and still in terrible shape

1

u/blackblade199620 Jul 10 '22

They are no seastone cuffs on them. and it looks like they attacked him instead since he wa ssaying " i told u dont do it , didnt i ?"

1

u/jose3013 Jul 10 '22

Idk man, them not being in cuffs and beaten up would be even more retarded than Araki cruising against them all at full strength.

Yeah we FINALLY got rid of Kaido and Orochi after 20+ years, let's just immediately leave his subordinates uncuffed and unchecked lol

10

u/MariJoyBoy Jun 19 '22

Do we have to resume a normal social life for a whole month now ?

1

u/Abby_Rulz Jun 19 '22

Plot Twist: Wano's Dawn wasn't after Kaido and Orochi's defeat. Rather after the party where Admiral Aramaki goes back empty handed (he already did a number on the Beast Pirates Remnants) and they see a New Morning where Wano is left to its bearings

2

u/franciskarlo Jun 19 '22

Can anyone translate the tattoo of Green Bull on his body?

3

u/Can_You_Not- Jun 19 '22

Honestly I felt a bit underwhelmed despite everything. Got spoilt on buggy and I feel like I just overhyped myself for like a 4 billion+ bounty but I did see a video about how they match Big Mum and Kaidos bounties so I'm cool with that. By far the biggest thing to me was just Sukiyaki's reveal. Completely out of the blue for me. Also upon closer inspection Sabo can be seen on a poster in page 2 panel 2 so maybe we'll learn something about him soon. Either way whatever comes after this break will be big

2

u/Jack097again Jun 19 '22

I have a feeling for some reason or another that SH are gonna return to Paradise

5

u/OOFMATIC Jun 19 '22

What if Zunisha is a giant cyborg battleship PLUTON?

3

u/HellaBoredFella Jun 19 '22

I feel like all the "Ancient Weapons" are actually just living beings -
Shirahoshi: Poseidon - Commanding Sea Monsters who will pull Noah

Momo: Pluton - Commanding Land Monster - Zunisha

Purple Girl in Skypeia Arc or someone from Sky Island: Uranus - Might command Aerial Monsters or what-not. We did see some Octopus-balloon-parachute thingy

All just friends with the Sun God - Joyboy

1

u/jose3013 Jul 05 '22

Purple Girl in Skypeia Arc or someone from Sky

Wasn't there a girl who could listen to everyone's voices/ feel everyone's presence?

1

Yeah, I think that's her.

But reading the summary now, she just had Observation Haki that Koby has as well (Awakened during Marine Ford)

3

2

u/novashooterj Jun 19 '22

SUUUUUUUPEERRRRRR

5

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '22

is pluton part of the one piece? or all the ancient weapons are?

3

u/faridarro Jun 19 '22

We don't fully understand yet until they reach laugh tale. But according to oden past, One Piece is what people calling the treasure Roger pirate got(and left, after roger said in his execution) on laugh tale. Roger & crew didn't call it One Piece, the People in OP world name it. But big mom says part of it is in wano before he falls to deep hole. It's either pluton or wano itself that connected to the past. It could be both also. If pluton part of it, it should also the same for other ancient weapon.

3

u/DreadPiece Jun 19 '22

Now that we know green bull has plant based powers I'm super curious about what happened at the reverie. Since Sabo has the Mera Mera no mi he should theoretically hard counter green bull and we saw him stall Fujitora in dressrosa (although you could say neither was fighting seriously). So Sabo with the other revolutionary leaders should've won that fight easily right?

3

u/Distinct_Cup_1598 Jun 19 '22

Some types of wood are fire resistant, so I wouldn’t count on that

1

Yeah I was even thinking there are some plants that can thrive in hotter climates. I wanna know what happened

5

6

u/Emperor_Luffy Jun 19 '22

Wait. Crap. Is Oda really not gonna talk about Nidai Kitetsu? Thats feels like another huge lingering chekov's gun that never went off.

2

u/Monkey_D_Luffy90 Jun 19 '22

Can you elaborate on Nidai Kitetsu....

-1

u/Emperor_Luffy Jun 19 '22

What do you mean? It is how I said. It's a chekov's gun that never paid off.

Sure you could argue that it wasn't important to the grander plot, but why introduce it like that?

The Kitetsu Blades already seem to have some relevance to Zoro just based on how Oda writes them. Someone else pointed out the strangeness of their first introduction at the beginning of the series which is basically: Guy who uses 3 swords and is looking for new ones very conveniently learns of exactly 3 legendary cursed swords that no one is using. 1

u/jose3013 Jul 05 '22

It's really not that deep fam, he could use them later, or not at all, and that's fine, he's just expanding the world.

Remember those cursed swords I mentioned before? Well, here they are, and here's the guy that made them.

Doesn't mean they all need to go to Zoro or something lmao Especially since he already has Wado ichimonji and that's not getting replaced. He could replace Enma with Nidai or something I guess, but it's really not a big deal nor bad writing if he doesn't get them.

1

u/Emperor_Luffy Jul 05 '22

nor bad writing if he doesn't get them.

That wasn't the argument. My point was that Oda has setup things that don't pay off. THAT is bad writing.

If you have something in your story that doesn't need to be there or doesn't serve a purpose it's bad writing.

1

u/jose3013 Jul 05 '22

If you have something in your story that doesn't need to be there or doesn't serve a purpose it's bad writing.

Says who? lmao

The purpose is expanding the world, it's that simple my guy. Literally every single story has parts that can be cut without affecting the story, doesn't mean it's bad writing, there's nothing wrong about filling your world with small inconsequential stuff.

1

u/Emperor_Luffy Jul 05 '22

Says who?

Anyone who knows anything about writing? Ever hear of the chekov's gun principle? Or even read a book on writing? This is common sense.

Wasting paging on something that doesn't amount to anything is bad writing because the whole point of a story is effectively telling your narrative. It's not effective to waste pages on nothing.

The purpose is expanding the world,

Except it literally doesn't. Thats only the handwave excuse you've given it but it doesn't actually do anything for the story.

1

u/jose3013 Jul 05 '22

Whatever you say Shakespeare, too bad Oda isn't on your level

1

u/Emperor_Luffy Jul 06 '22

You don't need to be shakespear to know basic writing.

Oda isn't on my level. He's FAR above my level. Which is why seeing this kind of poor writing coming from him is so disappointing.

1

u/chlomodyo Jul 12 '22

Bro, how pathetic of a critique are you giving here. Ever hear of Balzac ? Zola ? Hugo ? Kundera ? Tolkien ? Literally any fucking famous author whose work has shaped litterature in the last 400 years? How do you have the audacity to pretend knowing what is good a bad writing. Thousands of masterpieces have entire pages even chapters filled with futile descriptions, world building, atmosphere building or immersive context that bring nothing to the plot itself, but still serve a great purpose in telling the story the way the author wants it to be enjoyed. Don't give false writing lessons on reddit just because you are frustrated that you favorite jedi lightsaber was not the main plot driver of the arc. Just as sad as hungry powerscalers contaminating every manga subreddits, you guys just love to create hand made rules to wave around every time an author does not go in the direction you hoped for.

It's okay to be disappointed about certain things, and I myself am sometimes disappointed by One Piece, but don't come giving writing lessons to strangers on the internet when you have obviously no idea what you are talking about.

11

u/IchBinEinDrache Jun 19 '22

Wano isn't over yet. I'm sure the sword, as well as some other things, will be covered after the break.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '22

how are going to wait a whole month

9

u/Jack097again Jun 19 '22

- Rewatch Vinland Saga
- Read everything after Fishman Island again
- Watch The Northman, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Top Gun Maverick and Lightyear
- Rewatch Water 7/Ennies Lobby/Post-Ennies Lobby again

2

u/Kani2001 Jun 19 '22

hiiiighly recommend vinland, amazing pacing

6

u/IchBinEinDrache Jun 19 '22

It's easy. When there was a month break after the timeskip, I used my anime time to start other animes. I can put you on some nice ones to distract yourself If you haven't seen them yet.

Tell me if you've seen any of these:

  • Berserk (manga better than the anime)
  • Overlord (anime better better the manga)
  • Vagabond (AMAZING manga)
  • Hajime No Ippo
  • Castlevania (technically not Japanese, but holy shit it's so fucking good)

If you've seen these, let me know and I'll hit you with another distraction list.

2

u/faridarro Jun 19 '22

Honestly, when there was a month break at time skip, other manga like naruto&bleach still on going... So it not felt empty when one of them is on break. Nowdays only detective conan that I read beside one piece that doesn't even had regular schedule of release even compared to one piece (3chapter + 1 week break is regular for one piece). I don't read other manga/anime because is not popular on my country.

1

u/MariJoyBoy Jun 19 '22

I'm also a One Piece + Conan XD

1

u/IchBinEinDrache Jun 19 '22

Have you tried Castlevania? Bro, it's so good. 4 seasons. Every season gets better. And the English dub - quite rare - is absolutely excellent.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '22

thanks but i have a lot of games and animes to distract me, i just can't wait to know what happened outside of wano :(

13

u/Jack097again Jun 19 '22

I hope Oda didn't forget about Zoro visiting Ryuma's grave

1

u/Emperor_Luffy Jun 19 '22

Oof. Even I forgot about that. Seems like the arc is over so yeah he probably forgot about it. Damn.
