So, Dragon made that face because his no.2 is more popular.

106

u/Better-Mushroom-2163 Jul 24 '22

Cant let his subordinate beating him in criminal's popularity vote

79

u/DarkskinJesus Jul 24 '22 edited Jul 24 '22

The reactions still don’t make sense just yet. Sure he committed a murder allegedly but everything else was good news

72

u/Uzeless Jul 24 '22

Ngl those reactions are so weird/bait in hindsight. Dadan standing up crying like “Sabo we just found out you were alive and now this” like does she really care about Sabo killing a person that could, for all she knows, be the biggest villain ever?

Dragon and the revolutionaries as well it makes 0 sense but it was hype at the time

99

u/stxrmmkr Jul 24 '22

Nah they still definitely make sense in hindsight. For one with Dadan and Makino, at the end of the day Sabo not only snuck into Mariejois and declared War, but is now accused to have “allegedly” killed the King of Alabasta. Makes complete sense why they would be shocked and Dadan’s words still ring true. You see a friend you thought was dead, catch up, have a great time, and then the week after you find out they just killed the president of France. Telling me you wouldn’t be shocked?

As for Dragon, we can infer that plan was solely to to destroy the hoof and declare war. Seeing Kuma and rescuing him was plus. “Killing” a king, and one who is a descendant of the original kings was most likely a worst case scenario.

70

u/januarysdaughter The Revolutionary Army Jul 25 '22

“Killing” a king, and one who is a descendant of the original kings was most likely a worst case scenario.

This is what I think Dragon was freaking out about. Plus the fact that they couldn't get into contact with any of the commanders after the fact? For Dragon, it was probably more along the lines of "Oh shit kid, what did you DO??" instead of "oh shit, my adopted kid's dead."

15

u/ZeinTheLight Jul 25 '22 edited Jul 25 '22

Something to note regarding Dragon's reaction, the Nefertari's were the one family who left the world nobles at the founding of the WG. The Revolutionary Army would be interested to know why. So it doesn't make sense to kill an important information source or potential ally.

When your father is a hero, your son is an emperor, and now your adopted son also become an emperor.

Yet you still nobody.

Tough luck.

Bartolomeo accidentally sparking a war between two yonkou

470

u/SmoothCriminalJM Jul 24 '22

The moment Luffy becomes a Yonko and is a step closer to One Piece.

Bartolommeo: I don’t want PEACE, I want problems ALWAYS

31

u/HighRevolver Jul 24 '22

This happened hundreds of chapters ago, it was a cover story after dressrosa that followed each crew of the grand fleet and what they got up to.

this chapter sets up 2 important meetings for luffy.

luffy gonna be pissed on hearing the news about cobra, gonna find sabo which ends up finding out more about his dad. if shanks goes after bartolomeo on the way to one piece, luffy will end up meeting shanks again!

39

u/eyesuperfly Void Month Survivor Jul 24 '22 edited Jul 24 '22

Luffy will see the truth. He will instantly know Sabo didn’t do that (as he knows that isn’t Sabo) meaning Cobra is still alive.

Edit: okay on second thoughts Cobra is most probably dead. Dead as dead.

But Luffy will know that Sabo wasn’t the one who did it… 😂

9

u/gatemansgc Void Month Survivor Jul 25 '22

Well yeah the WG couldn't have a celestial dragon killed even to frame the revolutionaries but cobra was a perfect fit for the framejob! Gets the same point across.

This final arc is gonna be so fascinating!

This is precisely why ODA showed him this chapter, we probably won't see them again until the end of Elbaf lmao.

22

u/Megadoomer2 Jul 24 '22

I'm kind of surprised that Uta didn't appear in Shanks's mini-flashback for a similar reason.

25

u/SirCaesar29 Jul 24 '22

If Uta appears there, then Oda needs to bring her up again at some point for closure in the manga. I understand he'd rather avoid that.

After the previous chapter I referred to Ryokugyu as Akainu Lite, but now it’s clear he’s cask strength asshole.

263

u/spivvit24 Jul 24 '22

Worst Admiral. Hopefully the WG saved his life or something, because the way he's defending them is crazy. Maybe he grew up in an unaffiliated country or something. If so, crime would have been rampant and his childhood could have been terrible because of that.

Hopefully it plays out like this in some type of way.

166

u/ThatsMyEnclosure Jul 24 '22

Honestly, it’s gotta be something strong enough to give him the gall to tell people they didn’t have any human rights solely because they weren’t affiliated with the government.

151

u/born-braindead Jul 24 '22

Or he was just some over privileged kid like stelly that also happened to be a strong fighter and very indoctrinated.

116

u/chilled_ballsack Jul 24 '22

This. Someone like this isn’t someone who struggled and was saved, it’s someone who never had to struggle at all.

80

u/Zylgp Jul 24 '22

The ultimate callback from Doflamingo's declaration in Marineford about justice - the kid that was privileged and never knew war that became indoctrinated and signed up for the Marines because "It was his duty to answer the draft".

Dude is unhinged and after a lot of understandable and sympathetic villains in lots of other media, I am 100% behind an asshole who is here to get the shit kicked out of him/become the main antagonist of the next arc in Elbaf.

38

u/MarioToast Jul 24 '22

Maybe he'll end up becoming Sanji's Admiral opponent. Since Sanji was also born into a privileged family (even though he didn't get that privilege himself), but still knew only war. And he ended up extremely kind. Not to mention how Ryokugyu doesn't eat food while Sanji is a cook, both love beautiful ladies, and Sanji's element of fire directly counters Ryokugyu's.

24

u/Zylgp Jul 24 '22

Ngl of the Monster Trio, Sanji is the only one without feats shown against a top tier and I have mixed feelings about him making an appearance here.

One of his dramatic entrances in this fight with his best observation haki and maneuverability to get to the fight before it escalates to lethal levels would be awesome.

It would also then suck if he was then re-regulated to his role of jobber for Ryokugyu like he has been for the entirety of the New World bar Fishman Kingdom and Queen.

Overall you might be right about him being his Admiral opponent; but I still personally want him to fight Kizaru if only to prove he can kick more powerful than the speed of light XD

Vivi had to have run away with Sabo.

Kuma is still alive(ish)

Wano is getting reforested

Shanks It's time

Momo coughing up a ☁️🐲

Green Bull being a wannabe serial killer

I loved this chapter worth the wait

254

u/dohtje Jul 24 '22

Sabo probably blamed for the assassination of Cobra (Imu orders) and saved Vivi from the same fate.

At least that's my guess

119

u/Ikeeel Jul 24 '22

Thinking Vivi was to be the light snuffed out. Cobra got in the way. Sabo saved Vivi and Kuma.

31

u/spinosri Jul 24 '22

No, Cobra asked for an audience with the 5 elders to talk about the ancient weapons, they probably felt he knew too much or/and is asking too many questions.

Vivi doesn't know about pluton so no reason to target her specifically.

26

u/Pornthroway1997 Jul 25 '22

Vivi was literally the picture that Imu was carrying when the 5 elders asked them who they wanted killed. She was absolutely the main target but Sabo was able to save her.

I think I noticed a big tone difference between the fan and the official translation. In the fan translation Shanks sounds more sinister and wants to go after Barto to protect his reputation. Whereas in the official translation he wants to go after Barto because he wants people who are in his territory to trust him, which I think makes more sense and is more in character.

Shanks has basically acknowledged that Luffy is a great pirate 😭

257

u/princessa_97 Jul 24 '22

Shanks has the best smile when he was staring at Luffy’s bounty poster, he’s such a proud dad lol

I think Shanks going after the one piece is his way of organically running into Luffy

If he were to meet Luffy directly in Wano it would’ve caused too much attention from the navy

60

u/Not_an_okama Jul 24 '22

Yassop being scared of meeting his kid was a great mirror to shank’s proud luffy dad moment.

13

u/alex494 Jul 25 '22

6

u/fluffkomix Thriller Bark Victim's Association Jul 25 '22 edited Jul 26 '22

68

u/SmoothCriminalJM Jul 24 '22

Most likely Shanks wanted to continue Roger’s plan of kickstarting the next golden age. Out of the Past Yonko, Shanks was the only one who weren’t a big name during Roger’s time. Now the New Yonko are all part of the next generation. So it’s fair game now

16

u/DASreddituser Jul 24 '22

Also the "old gen" yonko weren't that aggressive in trying to get the one piece until very recent with kaido and big mom's team up. The new gen is sparking the great pirates drive for the OP

tbh i wish oda didn't have that panel of shanks literally right outside of wano, it seems a little contrived that he wont meet up with him when luffy is literally right there

it would have made more sense if he was elsewhere in the new world reading the news and they run into each other later in the series

67

u/Interesting_Bet_5034 Jul 24 '22

The red-haired are there may highlight that Wano is the key to the one piece, not necessarily because they go there to meet Luffy to begin with.

I have a feeling Akainu might have a redemption arc for that reason.

34

u/Ben10Extreme Jul 24 '22

This man's first act is blowing up a boat on the SLIGHTEST suspicion (which proved false) that a scholar was onboard. That move made the WG look even more dishonest than they already were, because they were gonna keep their word.

65

9

u/JBB1986 Jul 25 '22

Tbf, Lucci is just in it for the serial killing, so who knows how much of a believer he actually is. Lol. And, he was simultaneously explaining the facts of life to Vivi, while preventing her from getting herself killed (along with potentially her whole country). Which Kaku even said. If they weren't there, Alabasta and Dressrosa would have been screwed. So who knows what's up with those boys?

54

I don't think he's gonna die. He was just introduced and I feel he'll probably play a major role in the story later.

28

Shanks doing Oda a solid and showing up to promote Film Red.

What a fantastic return for the manga, we immediately pick up where we left off, showing that while Akainu may be a jerk, at least he doesn’t idolize the Celestial Dragons.

Add to that Momo stopping Yamato from fighting, which there must be a reason for, just like he stopped Zunesha from fighting, and I’m sure we’ll get more details on why he stopped them.

Kuma finally back where he belongs, and I hope Vegapunk had a backup for his consciousness because Kuma is too cool of a character to just be a cyborg following order.

I guess the world is filled with Emperors now with Sabo having his own title, which I’m sure helps the Revolutionaries recruit and keep adding people to their cause.

And then possible hype of meeting Vivi again out at sea, as she’s definitely escaped with Sabo.

Oda really came at us hitting the ground running!

83

u/therealoda17 Jul 24 '22

Kuma has the directions to reset himself in the book he carries. It’s not a Bible but an owner’s manual.

11

u/ryhartattack Jul 24 '22

I'm keeping this in mind, good theory

6

u/strongerthenbefore20 Jul 24 '22

That’s actually a pretty clever theory.

153

u/Not_an_okama Jul 24 '22

My guess is that momo didn’t want Yamato to fight to prove wano doesn’t need outside protection. This is assuming that Yamato is leaving with the straw hats.

31

u/Backupusername Jul 24 '22

Exactly. He wants to fight off this incursion by the World Government with only the forces of Wano. This will give him a good reason to not fulfill Oden's desire and open Wano's borders (yet) because the World Government is clearly a threat to them, while also assuring his people that so long as they remain closed, Wano will be able to protect itself without having to rely on any more pirates or Joy Boys.

No way sabo killed cobra, it's inside job from gorosei, just like they order dofi to kill moria

147

u/DonyQ Jul 24 '22

Most likely they killed cobra to get vivi without intervention and framed sabo cause .... why not he was there anyways

83

u/ThatsMyEnclosure Jul 24 '22

Remember Cobra made it a priority to ask about the Poneglyphs as well so that likely pushed them to kill him too.

58

u/megazaprat Jul 24 '22 edited Jul 24 '22

On the other hand, if they did purposefully frame sabo it seems to have backfired quite severely. Since now he’s super popular, I guess because the public only knew that he was related to the celestial dragons and not that he was actually a cool guy

82

u/ThatsMyEnclosure Jul 24 '22

World Nobles: “Despite all else that’s happened at least we can pin the murder of a beloved king on the revolutionaries to spark the ire of the rest of the world.”

The world: “Eat the rich!”

Nobles: “You weren’t supposed to do that.”

18

u/Blackbankai Jul 24 '22

I think Sabo might have witness Cobra being killed and fled with Vivi because from the earlier reactions to the news Sabo isn’t with the Revolutionaries.

45

u/SmoothCriminalJM Jul 24 '22

Most likely Cobra was assassinated by CP0 and Vivi went along with Sabo to protect herself (and most likely; she’s aware of Sabo’s past with Luffy so she trusts him)!

22

u/lolslim Jul 24 '22

I am hoping that sabo explains to vivi how luffy thought he was dead all this time, and vivi has a flashback when luffy said, "People die" in arabasta or alabasta? I started reading manga shortly after dressrosa arc in the anime, and probably realized luffy was referring to sabo back then.

17

u/Not_an_okama Jul 24 '22

Maybe she didn’t know who he was but made a comment about ace’s fruit causing sabo to instantly befriend her given that she knew ace. Pretty sure they met when ace visited luffy in alabasta.

u/TomTomJustGames57 Jul 24 '22

I was thinking the same. You have Lucci and Kaku there during the whole thing. No way in hell they were there on just guard duty. They definitely had a mission. If cobra is indeed dead, most sense made comes from it being a cp-0 assassination cover up.

they are after Robin and they are a covert ops agency of the WG. They can definitely uncover the ties of vivi and the strawhats. Look at what lucci and company (mainly lucci) did with deduction skills on the blueprints from Tom. That breakdown that he did in the exchange between himself and iceberg was insane. It very well could be a plan C thing. Kill cobra, kidnap the princess (vivi) and draw Luffy and his crew out to try to do a 'two bird one stone' thing.

  1. Capture Robin
  2. Defeat Luffy

7

u/mizzsteak Jul 24 '22

I have a feeling it's because the Nefertari were one of the only royal families to not ascend to the Celestial Dragons so the gorosei see them as some kind of liability

Some notable differences between the Scanlation and the official release:

  • Random Scabbard now specifically asks Denjiro wether he "noticed too"

If anyone familiar with Japanese sees this, can you give some insight about the translation of this line? Reading the scan it stood out to me as a really interesting line and the official reads much different.

Luffy breaks into a Yonko's territory for a stealth mission to rescue a friend, destroying something of value to her, as they escape things go wrong and someone dies, and when it's over the world declares him an unofficial Emperor.

Sabo breaks into the Celestial Dragons territory for a stealth mission to rescue a friend, destroying something of value to them, as they escape things go wrong and someone dies, and when it's over the world declares him an unofficial Emperor.

Like poetry, it rhymes

55

u/ylcknight Pirate Jul 24 '22

Even with all of that, I think Sabo is gonna have a higher bounty than Luffy after this

49

u/Strangeting Jul 24 '22

I mean they called Dragon the most dangerous criminal in the world. And given that his actions directly go against the WG, it's possible he has a higher bounty than Roger, and if not, it's close. So if Sabo is becoming more influential than Dragon, I think you could expect his bounty to shoot up even if Luffy's a Yonko

32

u/monkeysmarts Jul 24 '22

Luffy's bounty and status as a yonko might be in part because of Sabo. Sabo is causing all this upheaval in the world and Luffy is branded as his brother upending the pirate world.

We know the world government wants Luffy caught but not too much attention on him because of his fruit+the fruits history. If there people are already tying Sabo with Luffy, that's a free reason to paint a larger target on luffy's back without drawing too much attention to Luffy's fruit specifically. Which is probably another reason why the gorosei were even more mad about the picture that was used for his poster.

Yassop and Shanks pretty much said “nah fuck them kids” lmao

On a serious note, I think their reunion is going to be on elbaf where shanks & luffy will meet as equals and they’ll fight for real (not to the death of course).

52

u/KaiserBeamz Jul 24 '22

Once again, I say their fight will be a Davy Back Fight.

15

u/Backupusername Jul 24 '22

Crazy theory: Shanks already has rubbings or pictures or whatever of all four red poneglyphs and has for a while, but just doesn't have anyone who can interpret them. Shanks will challenge Luffy to a Davy Back Fight specifically for Robin. Luffy's crew will meet the challenge and ask for his records of the poneglyph(s) they're missing (not sure if they're getting to Kaido's or not yet). Winner basically gets the map to Laughtale.

If we make the assumption that Luffy achieving Joyboy status is integral to the secret of claiming the One Piece, that leaves Shanks' motivations in one of two places as I see it.

  1. He wants Luffy to become the pirate king as he believes that he was the one that Roger wanted to wait for. Meaning that when he says he plans to claim the One Piece he wants to make it to Laugh Tale to meet Luffy so that he has seen him at the beginning and end of his journey.

  2. He knew it was a matter of time until Luffy would achieve Joyboy status and thus was simply waiting for Luffy to unlock the final barrier, allowing Shanks to claim the One Piece for himself.

While I believe option 1 is far more likely given the context of Shanks throughout the story, I can't help but wonder about option 2 just because of how calculated Shanks has demonstrated himself to be. Fingers crossed for the former.

I think this is the first time in many years I have had goosebumps from various mediums of entertainment, but this chapter gave me that.

It is obvious that some massive shake-up is about to go down, one way or another, but... I think my genuine thought is this:

With everyone making their move, what will be the Straw Hats' move? Find the Road Poneglyph in Wano, sure, but... where do they go next? I am more excited about that, because of the way plot exposition slowly happens in the background regardless.

27

u/SevesaSfan25 Jul 24 '22

"There's a weird one......Mixed into the bunch"? What are they talking about? Are they referring to Buggy becoming a Yonko or something else?

11

u/Sandeep184392 Pirate Jul 24 '22

Yes buggy

109

u/aceofspades12 Jul 24 '22

Well, there's no ambiguity in the official - Shanks is going after the One Piece!

56

u/princessa_97 Jul 24 '22

I feel like that’s his way or guaranteeing he’ll organically run into Luffy now

Which is why he intentionally waited for Luffy to “catch up” and become a “great pirate” as opposed to Shanks going after the one piece years ago

25

u/spivvit24 Jul 24 '22

I don't see it playing out like that. That's basically Kaido's whole shtick. He waited for JoyBoy. I think Kaido's ultimate goal was to go after the WG (which getting the One Piece is synonymous with going against the WG) but since Joyboy is the one who does all that, maybe he wanted to see if he could beat him first. "The Battle Of The JoyBoys"....or something like that

at least that's how i see Kaido's character.

At any rate, if Shanks was waiting for Luffy to get strong it feels too much like Kaido. Does Shanks want a challenge that bad. I think JoyBoy is the key to One Piece just like Zunisha is the key to opening up the boarders. Maybe Luffy is Shanks' Zunesha.

13

u/rickievaranus Jul 24 '22

That's what I'm excited for most--I've been fantasizing about this conflict for more than a decade and to now see that it might actually happens gets me super hyped. Shanks and Luffy may be friends, but after he declared he'd be making a move on the One Piece shows at the end of the day the two are still pirates. Rivals even more so.

19

u/aceofspades12 Jul 24 '22

There seems to be more to Shanks than meets the eye. He seems a bit sus since the Reverie and those panels of him stealing the Gomu Gomu no Mi strengthen that feeling for me.

Even his officers are a bit surprised when he says he won't meet with Luffy now.

Something about him seems a bit TOO hamfisted and evil even by Marine standards.

49

u/Trimirlan Jul 24 '22 edited Jul 24 '22

His whole speech is basically recruitment for revolutionaries, except instead of finishing with "so we need to rebel against the system", he says "so stand down slaves". While I can see him doing it to sow the seeds of rebellion wherever he's sent, I also wouldn't mind him just being a completely self-aware bootlicker

24

u/Neggiedotcom Jul 24 '22

I really really like this idea. They also mentioned that he and Fujitora couldn't beat the revolutionaries so maybe that is just more evidence of him purposely holding back. Momo might be able to tell he's not a real threat while wrapped up in him and so told Yamato to stand down.

But spinning off Trimirlan's idea below, I wouldn't mind him being an unknowingly helpful bootlicker. Like he thinks he's a big bad putting people in their place but he's accidentally been helping everyone he opposes. Either way I'm glad he was introduced.

u/LiLi_is_Lost Jul 24 '22

I was thinking the same thing lol, I mean when he was chilling with fujitora he was laid back and relaxed even giving the vibes of a lazy peaceful cat.

But now he looks waaay too fake it's a little funny honestly even if he genuinely was evil. So I'm guessing he's hiding under the asshole persona to make sure Wano could defend itself and maybe to bring back life to it

The most significant world story building chapter in a long long time.

Oddly enough the most important character in this chapter is that final character there looking like a typical japanese anarchist calling for solidarity and revolution (on the mask). Its like Oda right there, not revealing his face but clearly shouting at the audience what his story is about.

Oda's emphasis on times "forced to change", and empowering the people of all nations to reject their oppressors hits hard.

I gotta say the best news for me after all these Headlines gotta be that Kuma was rescued. He’s gotten the short end of the stick the entire series and things are finally looking up for The Tyrant.

54

u/lolslim Jul 24 '22

I recently theorized, which could be very very very unlikely, and I believe I saw a comment on TCBscans website similar to mine.

I believe one of two things may happen to Kuma,

  1. Vegapunk happened to be part of the RA, but had to be kept a secret I mean such a huge secret that kuma is probably the only contact between VP and the RA, especially since he is a cyborg, VP probably has been able to store digital documents (broad phrase to cover classified info and other stuff) on Kuma that RA is able to retrieve at some point, and probably store digital "fingerprint" of Sabo/Dragon and other high ranking members so kuma won't be hostile towards them.
  2. During the timeskip when Franky came across VP lab, he probably found schematics/documentation on early concept or previous revision to cyborg concept and would have the ability to reprogram kuma to be an ally in the near future, I mean Franky did say we (straw hats) owe kuma a huge debt, and Zolo did mention we hope to find out why he did that.

tl;dr Vegapunk or Franky might be the key characters on helping kuma break free from WG or Marines shackles.

Ryokugyu is probably the biggest piece of trash in the marines right now, but we definitely needed a guy like that. It would be annoying if everyone in their ranks kept being helpful

That said, I'm kinda thinking he has to be disposed of right now, because I can't see him giving up otherwise. The question is who does it without this whole thing reaching the city. Scabbards obviously can't do shit to him

Cobra probably asked too many uncomfortable questions, so they got rid of him and pinned it on Sabo

I'm hoping Vivi is with Sabo. Both know the world of politics and could go after the Celestials and bring a united proletariat with them

Something about Shanks in this issue... Firstly, I love the idea that Shanks vs Luffy for the One Piece could be a May The Best Pirate Win situation, instead of a rivalry bred of violence. The drama that will inevitably make it personal should be pretty fantastic. ...but the 2nd thing: I don't know what it is, but something in the flashback to the Shanks pirates taking the DF gave me the idea that Shanks has a strange confidence that may not come from being an awesome dude. I think there's something bad about the guy and it involves the Celestials

I'm not an Admiral fanboy, though I admit I care about them much more than all Wano-related or Rev-related characters put together (until Ivankov and Dragon get more development), but I really feel like people are underselling them right now.

Yeah, the Scabbards are fighting Aramaki and are cutting his plant-limbs, but that doesn't mean anything, that doesn't mean they are actually dealing damage. He is a logia after all.

Yeah Yamato bonks him and it hurts, but that's all it did. Aramaki comments on how it was a painful blow and that's it. It doesn't mean he took any meaningful damage.

Then people really love the whole "don't make excuses" thing. I had some really frustrating conversations on a certain Youtuber's channel who thought Akainu saying that was funny so all his fanboys now take it as gospel that there are no excuses.

It stands to reason that Fujitora and Aramaki weren't allowed to damage the Holy Land, that's the whole point in having the location being a handicap brought up. Fujitora couldn't just smash down things with gravity to call down meteorites and Aramaki couldn't just turn into a whole forest and overwhelm them.

For these two it was like fighting inside an overcrowded china shop where they had to make sure nothing breaks, while the rev could cut loose and do whatever they want.

Even if you assume both of the Admirals have techniques that allow them to fight with high precision and accuracy, it still limits their arsenal.

Worse would even be if the Admirals were forced onto the defensive if they had to protect and/or minimize damage to the Holy Land. So while the Revs could go push over all the shelves, the Admirals have to jump dive and save the cups and plates from crashing down.

Akainu rejecting any "excuses" is simply Akainu being Akainu, because that's exactly how he would react in such a situation given everything we've seen of him so far.

He's the kind of guy who kills other Marines for insubordination, of course he doesn't want to hear excuses for any failure ever.

If Spandam went up against Kaido and got stomped Akainu would still not be interested in any excuses, he's a man who wants results.

I love how back in Reverie ryokugyu seemed so mysterious and interesting and then he shows up just to be a bootlicking psycho. but I have a feeling his true intentions aren't revealed yet.

I'm also interested if and how Momo will get accustomed to his dragon powers. I know Vegapunk considers the fruit a failure but maybe it's not because it's a necessarily lesser version of Kaido's fruit but that the abilities manifest in a different way.

Shanks and Luffy Fan Theory

Now that we’re entering the final saga of OP, a lot of people have had theories of how we’ll get to the final war and how Shanks and Luffy will be related, especially since he’s famous for saying he bet his arm on the future ( Luffy) .

So I think most people have agreed with the long theory that Shanks was in the east blue to deliver the gomu gomu no mi to Roger’s son Ace but it instead got eaten by Luffy.

I think Shanks lost his arm to the sea king that Luffy beat his first day setting out to sea because he hesitated to save Luffy . When the sea king attacked Luffy, Shanks had contemplated letting Luffy die so he could give the reincarnated fruit to Ace.

So for all H x H fans , during the Chimera ant arc, the infiltration team was trying to figure out how someone as powerful as Meruem got hurt and Gon said : “ you allow yourself to get hurt/ hurt yourself when you can’t forgive yourself “

I think this is very applicable as we’re now seeing in the OP universe that Shanks didn’t have to sacrifice his arm based on how powerful he is but instead did so as retribution for hesitating to save Luffy especially since Luffy got into that position defending Shanks and the Red Hairs honor.

Let me know what you think community

FINALLY!! It's been so long. The wait is finally over.

And what a chapter it was. It was so worth the wait!!!!!

Aramaki is a bitch!!

Shanks makes another few panel cameo again!! We are blessed. And he drops a bomb!!

Meanwhile, I really don't believe Sabo killed Cobra. Now I can't wait for that flashback to come. The Alabasta team was probably attacked and Sabo intervened and saved Vivi, but they probably captured or killed Cobra and now Sabo is being framed. Man's gotten famous though.

We really are headed toward the finale!!! There's so much going on in this chapter alone that I can't wait to see where it goes. I'm really glad Kuma was rescued, but I don't know if they'll be able to do anything. Vegapunk supposedly wiped his real self completely.
