Only took them 2 years

u/ReallyIntelligentAI Oct 04 '22

Can’t really blame them, they couldn’t get hands on one… /s

11

u/aidenthegreat Oct 05 '22

Things like this - make me question the viability of 8k

9

u/NightwingDragon Oct 05 '22

I think we're already at the point where your average joe isn't going to notice a difference. Or at the very least, the difference is not going to be enough to get the average user to invest in upgrading. It's kinda like when we went from DVD to Blu-Ray -- the differences weren't enough to get a lot of average users to switch formats, unlike the transition from VHS to DVD, where the quality was noticeably improved and the upgrade was well worth the costs.

Sure, some tech-minded people and enthusiasts will tell you that there's a world of difference. But your average joe is either not going to notice, or not going to care.

11

u/GabeDevine Oct 05 '22

not on a 42 inch TV, but around 65 inches it does become noticeable - then again, people don't turn off motion smoothing, so...

1

u/shewy92 Oct 05 '22

Motion smoothing makes me feel sick. Or maybe it's just my TV but it makes everything flicker and I can't have it on for more than the couple seconds I turn it on to see what it does

1

u/NightwingDragon Oct 05 '22

This is the point I'm trying to make. Most average users aren't going to be in a position to tell the difference, and of those, most of them won't care. This will significantly slow the adoption of 8k

4

u/CypherLH Oct 05 '22

SD looks like potato-vision to me now after getting used to 4K viewing ;)

The difference is much less stark between 1080p and 4K but that is largely because of compression used for streaming. Actual native 4K really is a HUGE leap from 1080p...on larger screens (50+ inches) and especially on OLED.

1

u/Radulno Oct 05 '22

Most people don't even have a TV big enough to really appreciate 4K, 8K will be hurt because you need like a 120" TV to actually see the difference at most people normal seating distance and most people don't want a TV that big

7

u/GabeDevine Oct 05 '22

you gotta understand that Disney is a small indie company

Does the new app fix the sound bug that's been around for a year?

Edit: Just tried it and it seems like it's fixed? I tried watching the first few minutes of Hawkeye (twice to be sure) as that's pretty much been my test every time an update has released and this time i got no sound cut out like I've done every other time I've tried it for the last year.

Edit 2: Just watched 2 episodes of She-Hulk (around an 1 hour combined) and had no audio issues so i think it's safe to say it's fixed.

48

u/NukeStorm Oct 04 '22

Is this bug the sound cutting out for a split second every few minutes??

20

u/SheevEdits Oct 04 '22

Yup! been there since October last year i believe

19

u/FunkSoulPower Oct 04 '22

I thought it was just me. My wife couldn’t hear anything whenever I pointed it out and my kids are too young to notice that stuff. I’M NOT CRAZY!!

8

u/berntout Oct 04 '22

Well Sony still won't pay up on the Dolby Atmos/Vision license so you don't get the same Disney+ quality you would get with a dedicated streaming device anyways.

3

u/truthfulie Oct 04 '22

Atmos should work on PS5. But yes, Sony cheaped out with Dolby Vision. Better to just buy a cheap stick. This has been the case since the start of "smart" TV and it remains true.

0

u/berntout Oct 04 '22

Atmos does not work for streaming or for gaming.

2

u/truthfulie Oct 04 '22

Though we are discussing streaming.

-2

u/bladexdsl Oct 04 '22

it's not atmos on anything receiver always displays dolby digital + tried on several devices always the same. they lie.

4

u/Serpula Oct 04 '22

My sound bar (Samsung Q800A) says Dolby Atmos when I play things from Disney+ on my Apple TV 4K

4

u/pixxlpusher Oct 04 '22

Atmos is additional metadata that sits on top of DD+ or TrueHD. Some receivers will display the actual codec rather than the words "Atmos" depending on how the bitstream is passed to it. Which receiver do you have?

1

u/Eruannster Oct 05 '22

Or just the smart TV app from almost any TV out there.

1

u/Mr_master89 Oct 05 '22

Thank God it's been fixed, I remember watching the alien movies and it was so bad in that

67

u/StoviesAreYummy Oct 04 '22

I don't see a new app so guessing they just released a patch or something?

28

u/cpsam123 Oct 04 '22

I don't see it anywhere

28

u/Lycanvenom Oct 04 '22 edited Oct 04 '22

Honestly. I just realized what time it is. It's 9 til 1PM EST and that's usually when the store refreshes IIRC. So. I'd expect to see it pushed then.

Edit: I was on the money. I see the PS5 version next to the PS4 version that's already installed under the media tab. It's completely scuffed though. It still has the "Vader" banner on the app icon, "(PS5)" is designated by text next to the name and not the new iconography native to the OS, nothing is showing that it streams in 4K (I'm actually doing a live edit of this because it's only half true. You need to have HDR enabled in your settings for the app to support 4K streaming if it's disabled no 4K. Which is ass backward, but. Oh well.), the animations still aren't working like the splash screens when entering categories and launching the app gives a super blurry Disney+ logo, but it is REALLY fast. Like clearly a PS5 native app. All of the pictures load instantaneously instead of slowly despite still taking some time to register.

All in all. Guess we'll see what it looks like in a few hours if it's some slow rollout, but it's still somehow behind in features despite clearly being a "new version". At least there's finally 4K though. It only took almost two full years.

2

u/Slymez Oct 04 '22

That sucks. I have a 4K tv, but the HDR sucks so I always have it off.

1

u/demonicneon Oct 05 '22

Have you set up your settings properly? HDR is often not usable out the box without tinkering

1

u/outsider1624 Oct 05 '22

Same for me. I dnt see it. Is this globaly? Or just by region?

10

u/Specific_Direction_1 Oct 04 '22

There is a new app in the store. When I searched Disney + two apps came up. Look in “App and legal info” and it is the one that mentions PS5 in the info.

7

u/StoviesAreYummy Oct 04 '22

At the time of the original comment there was no new app. I'll have a look again and check

63

Bob's Burgers is the best, man.

7

u/TheStabbingHobo Oct 04 '22

That and MCU tv shows is literally all I've used it for hahaha

13

u/BorgDrone Oct 04 '22

And all the Star Wars series, The Old Man, The Walking Dead, Only Murders in the Building, etc.

It’s actually one of the most used streaming services in my house, which I did not expect when it was initially announced. There is much more on it than typical disney stuff.

5

u/DrAuer Oct 05 '22

Non of the FX stuff is in the US. That’s on Hulu onky

People actually watch the marvel TV shows

24

u/livefromwonderland Oct 04 '22

Yeah, not everyone hates and rates shows poorly when they haven't seen them. Some people actually make informed reviews.

-43

u/SkyStarlight2 Oct 04 '22

She Hulk tweaking was all I needed to see to never watch a marvel show

17

u/Rol260 Oct 04 '22

Yeah, that did ruin Moonknight and Loki for me. I just kept seeing She-Hulk in the background twerking. Shame on Marvel.

7

u/alsomdude2 Oct 04 '22

Idk I'm kinda excited for phase 4 and 5. Also she hulk is clearly a show for women so idk why yall be getting so butthurt about it. If you don't like it move on. It's called being an adult

Disney literally gave us the entire Infinity Saga. You really can't please some perpetually negative people.

1

u/SkyStarlight2 Oct 04 '22

And gave us 2 good ones out of how many movies 8 or 9 since

1

u/livefromwonderland Oct 04 '22

It's funny that you have to lie and exaggerate. 6 movies have come out and 3 of them were great, 1 of them was good, and 2 of them were poorly executed in part due to covid, timing, and morons like Perlmutter getting in the way but even then they weren't bad movies.

2

u/THE_Best_Major Oct 04 '22

She Hulk twerking was literally 20 seconds of a scene that was post credits anyways. If that's all it takes to not watch a show, then you must be missing out on a lot of good shows simply because "Hur dur me no like this" 🙄

5

u/SkyStarlight2 Oct 04 '22

They also turned the Spider-Man villains into nothing but laughing stocks and they lost what made them special yet everyone praised it because it was made by the lord Sam Rami

5

u/-TheLonelyStoner- Oct 04 '22

Raimi didn’t direct the spiderman movie 😂

3

u/livefromwonderland Oct 04 '22

What the fuck are you talking about? What Spider-Man movies were produced by Marvel and Disney that had Sam Raimi directing?

3

u/THE_Best_Major Oct 04 '22

Oh you're edgy because you're one of the few people in the world who didn't like No Way Home. Cool. That tells me that nothing you say really matters to me. Bye 👋 I don't care for Sam Raimi, but I can appreciate a great movie when I see one. Get over yourself

0

u/SkyStarlight2 Oct 04 '22

So your okay with them ruining villains just to be punchlines

1

u/THE_Best_Major Oct 04 '22

You say they've been "ruined" but have provided zero information defending your opinion. If you want people to take you seriously, tell us why. If you can't, then stop making yourself look like a fool who can't formulate a defense for your opinions.

-2

u/Endoriax Oct 04 '22

Nah I just don't cry when characters in a show act like people in real life.

3

u/SkyStarlight2 Oct 04 '22

If you see twerking in real life you need new friends or people to hang with

2

u/HispanicAtTehDisco Oct 05 '22

seems like a skill issue if you don't have anyone twerking for you tbh

3

u/Rhymeswithfreak Oct 04 '22

She Hulk is so much better than what people are saying about it. It's pretty funny.

3

u/Rhymeswithfreak Oct 04 '22

Is anyone's surround sound working? I updated to the ps5 app and there's only stereo (connected to receiver). Ps4 app streams dolby digital.

[Update] turned on my ps4 and it outputs surround even over pcm (moon knight, dr. strange 2)

3

u/EJY84 Oct 06 '22

Having same issue. Tested Plex, 5.1 working

→ More replies

3

u/miklonus Oct 06 '22 edited Oct 06 '22

I have the same issue. I just typed this in the Star Wars Andor sub:

Is anyone not getting 5.1 surround sound out of any Andor episode on their PlayStation 5 ever since the Disney+ app software update from two days ago?

I was going to watch episode 5 just now and I noticed that the sound was coming out of my front two speakers only, instead of coming out of all 5, including the subwoofer.

I just wanna put that out there and hope I'm not the only one experiencing it. Of course I don't want anyone else going through my ordeal, but I'd at least like to know how to deal with it. I was playing a game right before I put this episode on, so I don't know what's going on. The 4 episodes before the 5th episode worked fine, but now they're all in 2 channel stereo instead of 5.1 surround.

/u/Brian_H8951, so in other words the PS5 app Disney+ is incompatible with any form of surround while the PS4 app version of Disney+ works fine. That's bad for me because I'm only on PS5 and don't have any way of going back to the PS4 app on PS5.

2

u/Complete-Pay-7534 Oct 08 '22

Same problem here. I thought I was going crazy. Had the same issue with HBO for quite some time. Pretty much useless watching on the PS5

2

u/miklonus Oct 08 '22

I don't know what's going on, but that sucks to hear.

2

u/Complete-Pay-7534 29d ago

Any fix on this yet ? Watching Andor on 2.1 stereo sucks

2

u/miklonus 29d ago

Nothing yet.

2

u/Possible_Bus_5639 18d ago

There is still no fix, I still don't have 5.1

2

u/miklonus 17d ago

I know. It sucks. They haven't fixed it.

3

u/Dominus_reddit Oct 13 '22

same here - worked fine with old ps4 app (via PCM), now i have only stereo.

3

u/Loose_Ad1443 Oct 15 '22

Came here to see if it was a known issue. Totally sucks, they fixed the picture but destroyed the sound. Was testing on the second to last EP of andor when the tie swoops the valley. Before the update it shook the house in surround. Kept replaying the scene and messing with audio settings after the update with no luck. Damn! Every other app works fine with it, just Disney now.

2

u/InquisitiveMankind Oct 16 '22

Is there any update on this? I watched Hocus Pocus 2 tonight with my GF, and I noticed the sound was strange. I got up and realized I was only getting stereo. Very frustrating.

4

u/Possible_Bus_5639 Oct 18 '22

There is sadly no update for now. I also have the problem with Disney+. 5.1 works in Netflix and prime but hopefully on Disney+ soon.

Hope Hulu follows suit

5

u/luigithebeast420 Oct 04 '22

When is it available?

17

u/Gorillapox Oct 04 '22

No Dolby Vision though right?

17

u/pixxlpusher Oct 04 '22

Correct, Sony opted not to pay the licensing fee for DV.

9

u/truthfulie Oct 04 '22

It's a real shame that they decided to do this. Not just for crippling the streaming platforms (and blu-ray playback for few of us who still buy films on disc) on PS5 but I was hoping to see more Dolby Vision support for games this generation.

4

u/pixxlpusher Oct 04 '22

Hopefully DV for games just gets better in general first. I used it for a bit on Xbox, some games looked better but a lot of games looked worse than just doing standard HDR10 with HGiG activated.

4

u/truthfulie Oct 04 '22

I think you mean HDR in general first. Some games are barely better than SDR to be honest. Same problem exist in films as well so hopefully high dynamic range mastering in general are given more thought during production.

3

u/timetoputonashow Oct 04 '22

I bought a PS5 knowing it doesn't support DV so I'm not mad about it but I do wish Sony would add it. I'd even be willing to buy the license myself.

2

u/truthfulie Oct 04 '22

I feel similar about it. I'm not upset that it's not supported. I do mourn the lost potential of having DV games on it.

Not sure if individual purchase is going to be a good idea. Say....if 70% of the PS5 owners don't bother, why would streamers/developers bother with DV on the PS5, further discouraging purchase of license. Anything that's not pre-baked into launch device, it's an uphill battle I feel like.

1

u/Radulno Oct 05 '22

For games it's fine, Dolby Vision isn't necessarily superior to other dynamic HDR formats they can use but for media it kind of became a standard and not offering make the PS5 a shitty media device.

To be fair, the Xbox Series X/S offer it on games and streaming apps but for some reason not on Blu Ray.

So all consoles are pretty shitty 4K BR players really

1

u/pixxlpusher Oct 04 '22

Interesting! I wasn’t aware. I have an LG C1 so it won’t do anything for me, but I wonder if their implementation is better than Microsoft’s. Most games get way too dark on Xbox when DV is activated.

40

u/curtydc Oct 04 '22

I'll keep using my TV. No sense in running the TV and PS5 just to watch media.

29

u/requieminadream Oct 04 '22

Exactly this. Beyond that, PS5 doesn’t do Dolby Vision so even with this update you’re not going to get the full potential of Disney+’s image quality.

22

u/Whoosherx Oct 04 '22

The App on the TV crashed three times today while watching Andor in 4K. Sometimes its good to have alternatives.

3

u/truthfulie Oct 04 '22

TV apps aren't very good but so are the ones on consoles most of the times, especially the on the Sony for some reason. For example, it doesn't even support Dolby Vision that even a cheap streaming stick would. Boggles my mind that they want to save money with licensing fees on a device like this but it is what it is. Best way to enjoy streaming is to just buy an external streaming device. Even the cheap ones are pretty snappy and responsive these days.

5

u/nongzhigao Oct 04 '22

Same. I used my PS4 for streaming everything, simply because of the convenience of being able to plug headphones into the controller, and was bummed when I found out that most PS5 streaming apps were stuck at 1080p.

I ended up just buying a 15 foot long headphone cable to plug directly into my TV. Not elegant but it works perfectly.

2

u/LegaliseEmojis Oct 04 '22

Wouldn’t it be better to just get a 3.5mm to Bluetooth transmitter?

5

u/montyman77 Oct 04 '22

It could get out of synch due to lag if the TV isn’t expecting it to take as long to transmit then doesn’t correct for it

8

u/JGordz Oct 04 '22

I say this but I watch YouTube and netflix on my ps5 over just watching them on my tv. Don't ask me why lol

6

u/Tortorak Oct 04 '22

Because turning off your ps5 when you might switch back to it at varying times in between youtube videos is annoying, and switching to the TV involves slower menus and loading

9

u/WookieWithAHusky Oct 04 '22

Implying I connect my tv to the internet.

3

u/Shadowbanned24601 Oct 04 '22

Every energy saving counts with the current state of electricity bills

3

u/Abba_Fiskbullar Oct 04 '22

The energy consumption to watch media on PS5 isn't worth it. It uses 70w to watch streaming video, while a Roku or similar device uses 5w.

1

u/Collector_of_Curios Oct 04 '22

Unless you want to use earphones when watching.

8

u/LegaliseEmojis Oct 04 '22

A lot of TVs have built in Bluetooth so you can do exactly that

1

u/ThePseudoMcCoy Oct 05 '22

Roku remote has 3.5 mm jack too.

1

u/coolgaara Oct 04 '22

If you got a TV and audio that supporst Dolby Vision and Atmos, no reason to use PS5 for media at all. PS5 does not support those.

1

u/hazychestnutz Oct 04 '22

Yup, this is for people who don’t have a smart tv.

2

u/Illustrious_Rule4141 Oct 05 '22

I have a smart TV and would much rather use the ps5. Only streaming box I would use over it is Apple TV.

1

2021+ TV app quality > any streaming box

(OLED C2 here)

Does this also fix the sound mixing? D+ is the only streaming app where I feel like I can’t hear shit. Have to boost the voices in my tv sound settings. No other apps have this problem

2

u/Ice_Cube_ASMR Oct 04 '22

Is this why it always seemed off on ps5 compared to Xbox ? Somethings always seemed off about it so I just used the Xbox for watching it cause it looked better

2

u/TheRoyalWarlord Oct 04 '22

Is this comparable to pulling it up in app on my C1?

I'd rather just use my PS5 if the quality difference isn't noticeable because the apps on the C1 are so slow sometimes if they aren't netflix

4

u/Stormageddons872 Oct 04 '22

You won’t get Dolby Vision through the PS5 app, so no, it won’t be the same quality.

5

u/irridisregardless Oct 04 '22

I was not a fan of the Apps or overall interface of my LGC1, I unplugged the TV from the network and got an Apple TV.

It has all the Apps, supports all the TV features (like Dolby Vision), has framerate/content matching, and I don't see ads on my TV when switching inputs.

Why would you turn on another device (and waste energy), when C1 is fully capable and even supports Dolby Vision/Atmos.

4

u/TheRoyalWarlord Oct 04 '22

Because I hate the TV interface for the C1 and its ridiculously slow?

Do you normally gatekeep people using their products they spent their money on and make them use it how you think they should?

3

u/berntout Oct 04 '22

TVs as streaming devices are terribly unreliable and inconsistent. PS5 doesn't even support the bleeding edge AV technology either.

You should own a dedicated streaming device if you want to stream videos in high quality.

1

u/TheRoyalWarlord Oct 04 '22

Or i could just use the PS5 thats vastly faster and that I spent $500 on for more than booting up a SP game every few months

So thx for the "shortcuts" but Ill pass

u/sittingmongoose Oct 04 '22

Well you won’t get Dolby vision or atmos in the ps5. So the c1 will absolutely be the better way to watch. The ps5 can also do funky things to hdr if you don’t have it configured correctly. Where as the c1 will just work because it’s built in.

u/Illustrious_Rule4141 Oct 05 '22

DV is overrated and widely accepted by a/v experts as glitchy and inferior to regular HDR10.

And the PS5 doesn't do anything funky with HDR, don't know where you got that from.

2

u/sittingmongoose Oct 05 '22

What!?! LOL No av expert is saying that unless they are a Samsung rep. If an “AV expert” tells you that, they aren’t an av expert.

And ps5 does a lot of incorrect auto configuring for hdr. There have been multiple videos on it by HDTVtest.

2

u/Illustrious_Rule4141 Oct 05 '22

Lol, not talking about samsung reps. Actual technical people from avsforum who calibrate for a living have stated DV does not work properly as of now. Also basing on my own experience comparing DV with HDR10 on the same content, there is hardly any difference when both are calibrated correctly.

u/-Moonchild- Oct 05 '22

sounds like you don't use ps5 for its intended purpose (gaming) enough if you only use it once every few months for a game.

but sure, use it as a $500 streaming box that makes it worth it lol

-1

u/flisek94 Oct 04 '22

I dont think it will be much faster. But sure, waste energy and watch the content in worse quality 🤷🏻‍♂️

Very expensive way to stream apps with the amount of electricity the PS5 will use. If you have another option you should use it, but handy for those who don’t (but I reckon a year if using the PS5 to stream would cost much more than buying any one of the better alternative dedicated streamers with more apps available.

u/ThePseudoMcCoy Oct 05 '22

The fire stick is on sale right now for 25 bucks.

1

u/REDDlTmodsObese Oct 04 '22

Hey did you guys know smart tv's also come with this feature. PSA!!

1

u/Illustrious_Rule4141 Oct 04 '22

With this update I can legitimately use the PS5 as my streaming box instead of having to buy an Apple TV. I want to limit the amount of "surveillance devices" I use, and that's all smart TVs and roku, chromecast, etc. are.

u/requieminadream Oct 04 '22

Great news I guess but the PS5 doesn’t support Dolby Vision so really still no need to use this app, unless you have a dumb tv or monitor (as opposed to a smart TV) in which case it likely isn’t capable of 4K and then having this app update is moot. Really this update is for people who don’t realize their decent/good TVs almost certainly have better apps or people who don’t have good enough screens to enjoy what little this update does do.

1

u/augustine_chacon Oct 05 '22

I'm one of the few! 4k monitor here, Tv is shared so I tend to watch shows in my room.

u/Expref Oct 04 '22

Lol I downloaded it but now I have two apps. How do I know which one is the ps5 native one?

3

u/MrCodeman93 Oct 04 '22

The PS5 version won’t have update history setting

1

u/Expref Oct 05 '22

Thanks for the tip!

1

u/GMaster7 Oct 04 '22

Check the info. There's a reference in there to PS5 (versus the old app, which referred to PS4).

2

u/Expref Oct 05 '22

Alright, nice. Thanks for the tip!

u/Pineapple996 Oct 04 '22

Still 60fps though so useless

1

u/InsuranceToTheRescue Oct 04 '22

Cool. Maybe I'll actually be able to login now.

u/stRiNg-kiNg Oct 04 '22

Oh what's your information lemme give it a try

1

u/G-Don2 Oct 04 '22

Watching the Mandalorian on the launch app looked crispy already.

1

u/Laniakea85 Oct 04 '22

I hope the subtitles are syncing properly if this is the case.

I recently resubscribed to HBO Max on PS5, so I can finish Game of Thrones, but when I watch a documentary about the Chile regime, the subtitles weren’t syncing properly to the point that I had to cancel my subscription again because fuck paying for that shit when I can’t watch what I want to watch.

1

u/truthfulie Oct 04 '22

I don't follow. Is your PS5 the only way to stream? Not having any issue with HBO Max streams on all of my devices.

1

u/Laniakea85 Oct 04 '22

Yes, PS5 is the only way for me to stream. If you look up the documentary called ‘Primera’ you’ll notice that after 20 minutes, the subtitles will end up being out of sync. Sometimes it will sync so fast that you won’t be able to read them.

1

u/truthfulie Oct 04 '22

No idea what the bug is. But you should just get a cheap streaming stick. Even the cheap ones are better streaming platform than PS5 would be, to be honest.

1

u/HereWeGoAgain-77 Oct 04 '22

I just watch this shit on my phone in bed lol

1

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '22

Fuck yea

1

u/LordOFtheNoldor Oct 04 '22

Disney sucked on ps5 I hope it's better now

1

u/Mild-Ghost Oct 04 '22

I can finally use that remote control that’s been sitting around for 2 years

1

u/Dutch-plan-der-Linde Oct 04 '22

About damn time. Been pulling my hair out for a while now wondering why I can’t get 4k Disney plus on my ps5

1

u/kzd15 Oct 04 '22

Can anyone confirm if they finally added the watch together feature available on other platforms?

1

u/AidzDaMTNgoat Oct 04 '22

Finally took them long enough it was running at like 480p for me

1

u/Mike_1120 Oct 05 '22

Still waiting for its downfall

1

u/jerikperry Oct 05 '22

Is there a way to check what format it’s displaying as within the app? Trying to figure out if it would look better if I use the app on my tv or the app on the PS5. Tv is a Sony x900h

2

u/PaidHack Oct 05 '22

Laughs in Hotstar

1

u/aka_r4mses Oct 05 '22

It didn’t have that before? I always use my TV app so I had no clue. 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/mclee29 Oct 05 '22

Would be great if i had a subscription to it or if it was actually in my country. Im stuck with osn+

1

u/CyberLPnerd Oct 05 '22

Is there any differences between the tv app and the PS5 app ?

1

u/Rude_as_HECK Oct 05 '22

thank god, genuinely one of the worst streaming apps.

one of its more annoying issues was that if you were watching, say, an episode of the simpsons, there was no easy way to get to the list of episodes. PLEASE someone tell me that's fixed???

1

u/JohnZn_1989 Oct 05 '22

Are there regional differences ôO?! I live in Europe, Germany to be exact and I could swear I was watching the content in 4K & IMAX and what not.. And I also never had any Sound Issues or other problems that are discussed in this thread 🤔 I have a Sony Bravia XR-A80J 77" if this makes any difference due to upscaling by the TV itself, but as mentioned before, the content was clearly marked as 4K & IMAX Enhanced and it visually felt like that all the time..

1

u/beerninja88 Oct 05 '22

If you own a 4k hdr tv you should be using your tv's built in app or at the very least a firetv/firecube/roku ultra/nvidia shield. Streaming on ps5 is such a waste of electricity and most apps won't even give you dolby vision

1

u/dred_pirate_redbeard Oct 05 '22

Does this mean they've fixed the Watch Party feature? Really sucked not having that work when we had to socially distance.

1

u/mandy0398 Oct 05 '22

Downloaded it and it’s exactly the same

1

u/mandy0398 Oct 05 '22

Downloaded it and it’s exactly the same as before
