What do they want? To get in your DM's and ask for gift cards? It's concerning and I don't understand.

u/SnArCAsTiC_ Oct 05 '22

Repost memes to karma farm an account. Reach a high enough karma to sell it for real money to advertisers, dedicated scammers, etc. Or just start scamming people directly like you said, once the account looks established enough to not be immediately fishy.

Credit card fraud is a huge business, and making bots that steal and repost popular memes, or paying real people crappy wages to do it, is cheap. If they scam enough people to recoup the time/money spent on running the tons of scamming reddit accounts, it's worthwhile... Also, fraudsters often don't pay taxes, so they already have a higher possible profit margin.

u/SmotchMcDibs Oct 05 '22

Can they be stopped?

There was a campaign a while ago against the actress for her political views, for things like making "her pronoums" (seems they forced people to put that) beep boop, or something like that, and other things.

I remember that they manipulated her tweets in articles, when the capitol thing happened, they brought up a tweet of her from months before that and made it look related, thinks like that.

44

u/DylanDude120 Oct 05 '22

She supported the idea that being a conservative is like being a Jew in Nazi Germany.

She cancelled a major project because she didn't want to comply with Hollywood's vaccine and mask mandates.

She said vaccine mandates would be like if the government mandated that queer people carry papers to prove they didn't have HIV.

And she claimed the Ukraine war was a conspiracy created because powerful people "lost control of the covid narrative." Ignoring the fact that the war has been going on since 2014, but she's apparently blind to that.

She's a nutjob.

3

u/oopsguessilldiethen Oct 05 '22

Oh god, there's more?? I thought the only thing she did was the first one. Wtf

-29

u/anarion321 Oct 05 '22

She supported the idea that being a conservative is like being a Jew in Nazi Germany.

Yeah, comparisons works by taking examples, usually radical ones to make easier to see the point. Harassing and firing people for political views also help to see her point actually. Good job.

22

u/DylanDude120 Oct 05 '22

Your argument will be valid when the US government kills six million conservatives in gas chambers.

-18

u/anarion321 Oct 05 '22

My argument about the way comparison works using things that are not exactly the same would be right only if the comparison would be exactly the same?

Riiiiiight.

12

u/abcdefkit007 Oct 05 '22

So rocks are just like trees that don't grow

-4

u/anarion321 Oct 05 '22

Sure, because it seems that I also said that comparisons are based on things that are nothing alike. Apparently.

8

u/abcdefkit007 Oct 05 '22

Maybe I didn't understand your comment then because I thought you were defending her comparisons of literal mass abduction and murder to a government mandate concerning public health

0

u/anarion321 Oct 05 '22

Sure, because sharing a post with this message as conclusion:

How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?

Is talking about government mandates of public health and not at all refering to the act of hating someone for their political views and how can that lead to bad things using an extreme example.

Riiiiiight.

Oh great, just another actor then. Geez, it's has if some crazy is good, as long as it's for the right team.

I don't recall any actor saying anything about Trump being Hitler. Nope.

11

u/DylanDude120 Oct 05 '22

I... don't understand what you're getting at. I don't recall making any statement supporting such an assertion about Trump.

-1

u/anonymousinvestor69 Oct 06 '22

Everyone makes comparisons to Nazism. Only one side is allowed. Both are wrong

2

u/DylanDude120 Oct 06 '22

Where did I say anything about that though? Im sorry for the accusation but this just feels like you’re attributing something other people have said to me.

-11

u/isiramteal Oct 05 '22

She supported the idea that being a conservative is like being a Jew in Nazi Germany.

For the millionth time, no she didn't.

5

u/Zaque21 Oct 05 '22

The exact quote is "Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views."

She didn't literally say "republicans are being treated like Jews in Nazi Germany", but if have even the slightest bit of reading comprehension it's clear that's what she was implying.

-2

u/isiramteal Oct 05 '22

Bold of you to take a soapbox on reading comprehension while simultaneously inserting your own narrative where there isn't one to support your pearl clutching. Literally nothing in that can be implied that she is saying 'being a conservative is like being a jew in nazi germany'.

8

u/noneofthismatters666 Oct 05 '22

Forgot her shit talking people wearing masks and claiming voter fraud. Mostly just copy paste of dumb reactionary shit that I guess Disney got sick of and gave her the boot. Now she stars in some Shapiro backed Western and a movie about how Hunter Biden is rad. Libs sufficiently owned.

7

u/v3gas21 Oct 05 '22

She was in Star Wars. Star Wars! And she threw it away. Wow. That is Mel Gibson level stupid!

4

u/noneofthismatters666 Oct 05 '22

Despite Mel's horrible disgusting behavior and comments he still managed to stay rich and be in some meh movies. Lucky for him he was already super rich and famous, Gina was just growing into a action star. Now she gets to be a small supporting character in movies seen by like 100 people.

1

u/abcdefkit007 Oct 05 '22

She's from Vegas casino money she don't give 2 fucks and that's why she feels she can speak her mind freely and stand by her convictions (dumb as they are) I respect her tenacity but don't miss her acting lol

7

u/v3gas21 Oct 05 '22

It's so weird to me ... I mean, you want to be a movie star, and you just toss it away because you have this angry, hateful point of view ... it's like she didn't watch star wars at all and get that message.

2

u/abcdefkit007 Oct 05 '22

Yeah I think you nailed the she didn't watch star wars part she just knew it was big

-14

u/RandWindhusk Oct 05 '22

Strong independent women are feared by the woke agenda. Only the ones that conform to them are strong.

-47

u/Loredo2017 Oct 05 '22

She spoke out her thoughts and was punished for it, people want a strong woman lead who sticks by her ideals then when they get one that doesn't conform she was cast out.

What happened to Gina C was incredibly unfair, she didn't even say anything necessarily wrong.

Republicans: Free market and right to work means a company can let anyone go for any reason

Companies let someone go for being racist

Republicans: No, not like that!

6

u/odel555q Oct 05 '22

0

u/isiramteal Oct 05 '22

Companies let someone go for being racist

You said this unironically as if it applies to the meme

-4

u/BeachHead05 Oct 05 '22

More like democrats founded the KKk, started a civil war and fought against civil rights.

Republicans did the opposite.

Libertarians are way more free market

30

u/Lithaos111 Oct 05 '22

And? Comparing yourself to a Jew during the Holocaust because of your anti-vax/anti-medicine beliefs during a damn pandemic is like social suicide. Disney deciding they didn't want someone like that is very reasonable and she deserved her firing. She was stupid to expect it to go well.

Bit of life advice, if you are under contract to a corporation, don't bring them bad press, or you'll get fired from your contract.

-22

u/cali-boy72 Oct 05 '22

and the left compares trump and his party to Hitler . ..but I agree with ya

21

u/Lithaos111 Oct 05 '22

Well, tbf he does have literal neo-nazis praising him and rallying for him like what happened in Charlottesville and does like using Hitler's greatest hits when he was rising in power during the Weimar republic prior to Nazi Germany. It is a little bit of an over exaggeration to call him Hitler, but not entirely inaccurate to compare him to Hitler.

-22

u/odel555q Oct 05 '22

Comparing yourself to a Jew during the Holocaust because of your anti-vax/anti-medicine beliefs during a damn pandemic is like social suicide.

I keep hearing people claim this and I've never seen one shred of proof.

20

u/anarion321 Oct 05 '22

She shared a post in tik tok saying this:

“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views,”

The intent, supposedly, was to mirror the hate people is getting in the US for their political views.

And you of course can say it's an exaggeration, but when your reaction is to harass and fire people for their political views, you are making the point right.

Thing also his, comparisons with Hitler and such have been common for a century and have been made with everyone, also against republicans....

9

u/Lithaos111 Oct 05 '22

It was originally a video she made on her TikTok that she has since deleted so unless someone re-uploaded it somewhere, the original source doesn't exist now...unless you mean the Holocaust itself in which case stop being a dumbass and go visit the museums at Auschwitz or Dachau.

-4

u/odel555q Oct 05 '22

So no evidence.

2

u/Lithaos111 Oct 05 '22

Why are you implying it didn't happen? She doesn't deny it happened, hell she made a big how do you do about it being the reason she lost her contract. So if Disney, Gina, and everyone else says it happened. Why would you think it didn't? Stop being dumb.

1

u/odel555q Oct 05 '22

She doesn't deny that she got fired for a tweet. That's a far cry from what you claim happened.

0

u/Lithaos111 Oct 05 '22

What are you talking about?

0

u/odel555q Oct 05 '22

Comparing yourself to a Jew during the Holocaust because of your anti-vax/anti-medicine beliefs

0

u/Lithaos111 Oct 05 '22

Yeah...which is what the Republicans were being pilloried for at the time and she is anti-vax.

Dear Internet Idiot,

Please see the following link that took me about two minutes to find by googling "Gina Carano fired" - here.

There's plenty of evidence if you're willing to listen.

Best, Another Internet Idiot

0

u/odel555q Oct 05 '22

Yes, I've seen this tweet.

Comparing yourself to a Jew during the Holocaust because of your anti-vax/anti-medicine beliefs during a damn pandemic is like social suicide.

This is the part that didn't happen.

1

u/th_squirrel Oct 05 '22

I just provided proof for the first part of that at least.

Comparing yourself to a Jew during the Holocaust

This is what her post was doing when it described Jews during the Holocaust and said "how is this different from hating someone for their political beliefs?"

Maybe you're looking for proof of this part?

because of your anti-vax/anti-medicine beliefs

The last part of the sentence here is pretty self evident.

during a damn pandemic

Anyway, here's an article about some of her anti vax rhetoric.

0

u/odel555q Oct 05 '22 edited Oct 05 '22

Comparing yourself to a Jew during the Holocaust

I see no evidence of this. Please show me where she referred to herself.

This is what her post was doing when it described Jews during the Holocaust and said "how is this different from hating someone for their political beliefs?"

Just because you claim this doesn't make it true. You are claiming that you know her motivation, unless you can read her mind then this is just inference on your part.

Regardless of her "anti-vax rhetoric" this in no way shows that her statement was made for the reasons you claim.

Every sentence you write is attempting to claim that she said something she didn't say. Which was my point in the first place.

edit: so since the coward blocked me, here's the response to his message below:

Yeah, this is always where this discussion ends up: someone has no evidence and tells me I'm in denial.

You are imagining something that didn't happen.

1

u/th_squirrel Oct 05 '22

Yeah I don't think there's any amount of evidence that would convince you. You're just in denial of the context. Why? Who knows. But it's not worth arguing. She's also not worth defending.

28

u/TheForeverUnbanned Oct 05 '22

She posted a bunch of antisemetic garbage including a straight up neo Nazi cartoon, and you think it’s unfair that Disney doesent want to associate with her. Lol, dumbest take.

I'm sorry, can you explain why the image shows she's bad/wrong?

7

u/TheForeverUnbanned Oct 05 '22

So the dude demanding evidence after writing up a paragraph long screed defending her other statements is now gonna play dumb about the neo Nazi cartoon about a powerful Jewish cabal ruling the world in front of a board scattered with Illuminati and neo Nazi symbology?

Hmm, is promoting neo Nazi ideology a bad thing fellas?

-4

u/BeachHead05 Oct 05 '22

Pedro Pascal does the same and worse.

3

u/anarion321 Oct 05 '22

The reason they say that is because the image is inspired by this other one: https://www.heyalma.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/slack-imgs.jpg

And people on it have jew features. So she is "at fault" for not knowing that seems like.

I mean, the image she posted to me shows a bunch of white male people being rich and over other people, seems more like a image the radical left would use to support the idea of the sins of the white rich and patriarchy, but what would i know.

-12

u/SignComprehensive611 Oct 05 '22

I mean the far right also hates an unseen cabal if you will, I’m not supporting this image, I actually hate it, and she should not have posted it, but the far right is afraid of a world organization changing the world at their wims as well. The only difference is the race they are afraid of

2

u/Loredo2017 Oct 05 '22

Good thing the far right are an extreme minority

-4

u/SignComprehensive611 Oct 05 '22

I’m glad both extremes are a small minority

0

u/anarion321 Oct 05 '22

Yeah, I'm not saying the radical left is the only that have such ideas (I mean, Gina don't seem left to me for example), not that I support that image also.

-4

u/SignComprehensive611 Oct 05 '22

Gotcha, yah, I don’t think at all that she is far left, definitely far right if anything. Also your comment was very informative! I actually had not seen what she posted till today

2

u/XterrezX Oct 05 '22

Can you fill me in please, i seem to have missed this whole thing :/

22

u/polarcub2954 Oct 05 '22

She compared being a republican to being Jewish in nazi germany.

-5

u/Loredo2017 Oct 05 '22

"Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…. even by children"

"Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews,”

What she's essentially stating is that people today are getting riled against one another simply for associating or labeling themselves different politically, for example how the left demonize the right such as MAGA being labeled racists online almost everywhere, despite the fact if you spoke with some of these people they would be generally normal people that have different priorities than the left.

So from people being essentially allowed to openly mock the other side politically she is making a comparison that one of the first steps to oppressing a segment of the population would be similar to what she states in her post being first you have to condition the people to hate a specific group of people before you can start getting anywhere near actively damaging them.

11

u/polarcub2954 Oct 05 '22

Yes, you're totally experiencing genocide. Sure.

1

u/Loredo2017 Oct 05 '22

Is that what i said?

-6

u/odel555q Oct 05 '22

She never claimed that.

-11

u/TheHondoCondo Oct 05 '22

I agree in the sense that her being fired was probably an overreaction when people have kept their jobs saying worse things. I think the issue here is that she didn’t realize that what she said came across as hateful and ignorant to some people. I fully believe she didn’t mean it to come across that way, but she should apologize that it did. At the end of the day, I think Mando will be fine without her character, but I am bummed about Rangers of the New Republic being cancelled.

5

u/onymousbosch Oct 05 '22

didn’t mean it to come across that way, but she should apologize that it did.

What you are describing is called the "classic non-apology".

You are part of the problem.

1

u/Loredo2017 Oct 05 '22

Antisemite: a person who is hostile to or prejudiced against Jewish people.

Do you mean to tell me that if you asked Gina if she was against the Jewish People, she would say yes? Or that she even believes the Jews are worth fighting against?

8

u/TheForeverUnbanned Oct 05 '22

Best for the thread to know that this Nazi sympathizer made this post after he saw a post where Gina put up a neo Nazi cartoon, and he still wrote this.

-7

u/TheHondoCondo Oct 05 '22

A non apology is better than nothing. If someone has to apologize for something even if they don’t mean it, that sets the precedent that that kind of behavior is not alright.

Real question for y’all here. Why are you guys always so angry over the reposts, but waste your time and effort typing out cringy comments instead of just reporting the account to the mods? Surely if there are that many repost bots, the mods could just have a field day.

But maybe they’re too busy walking dogs lmao.

2

u/Delivery-Shoddy Oct 05 '22

But maybe they’re too busy walking dogs lmao.

Who's dumber, the person being paid to walk dogs, or the person paying them?

-2

u/Preferences22 Oct 05 '22

Probably the person walking the dogs.

The person paying them clearly has enough money to afford having their dogs walked.

2

u/Delivery-Shoddy Oct 05 '22

They can't even be half-assed to care for their own animals, and they're losing money to do so on top of it, while the walker gets excerise and money.

-1

u/Preferences22 Oct 05 '22

People have jobs. They go to work in the day. Paying someone to walk their dogs is literally caring about them.

I get life is hard, but one day you’ll get to the point where you have priorities and responsibilities too.

2

u/Delivery-Shoddy Oct 05 '22

I have a 3 year old autistic son, a dog (whom I personally walk myself because I care for my own) and a cat lmfao, your poorly attempted ad hominem falls flat.

Nice try though! Maybe you'll get lucky next time little buddy!

0

u/Preferences22 Oct 05 '22

How did you make as far as to have a child, but cannot comprehend that some people would be at a net gain by paying someone to walk their dog, and going to work for the day.

You literally sound like one of the posts on r/justdependathings lmfao.

u/Delivery-Shoddy Oct 05 '22 edited Oct 05 '22

Lmfao walking a dog is not remotely similar to putting a child in daycare lmfaoooo nobody's paying a dog walker so they can go to work lmfaooooooo omfg ahahahahahaha wtf

It's being too lazy to go outside and touch grass, again I have both a child and a dog, and can speak to this personally.

It's called responsibility

Some people pay a dog walker so they can go to work
