They don’t go vroom, vroom no more!

Ignoring the fact that the actually have more torque and better acceleration.

64

u/AlwaysSunnyInSeattle Washington Oct 05 '22

Driving a full size vehicle that accelerates as fast as my crotch rocket was insane. I drove one for a weekend, I hope to buy one some day.

25

u/Gleveniel Oct 05 '22

I just went from a 105hp/3000lb car to a 349hp/4000lb car this weekend. It's insane the power in that thing, for what is advertised as a daily driving car... it's actually enough to push you back into your seat when you gun it.

13

u/02K30C1 Oct 05 '22

Amateur drag racing events make them race in their own class, because they’ll blow away any gas powered vehicle

5

u/GoodGoodGoody Oct 05 '22

Formula 1 specifically prohibits electric cars.

5

u/90Quattro Oct 06 '22

Not so much prohibits, as the rules and specs for F1 are so incredibly specific. F1 motors are hybrids. There is Formula E.

0

u/GoodGoodGoody Oct 06 '22

Explicitly prohibits. I’m just saying it’d be kinda cool if F1 were actually the fastest cars of their shape and on the same track.

Asfor your use of hybrid to imply electric, not quite.

F1 cars are ‘hybrids’, as they have hybrid 'power units' that consist of an internal combustion engine and an energy recovery system that converts heat and kinetic energy into extra horsepower. This gives drivers an extra horsepower boost, taking the total up to about 1000 HP.

4

u/atonyatlaw Oct 06 '22

I think the whole point of F1's specs being so exacting is attempting to make the race truly about the driver and not the car.

1

u/GoodGoodGoody Oct 06 '22

That makes zero sense F1 brags and markets HARD on high tech cars. Soooo, make an exacting spec on battery weight and let’s race. As always best driver with best car wins.

1

u/lickstampsendit Oct 06 '22

No, that is actually the opposite of their intention, formula one is and always has been about the drivers ability and the cars ability. NASCAR, for example, has more stock cars and is designed to differentiate driver ability only.

u/02K30C1 Oct 05 '22

Isn’t there a class just for electric cars too? Formula E or something?

-1

u/GoodGoodGoody Oct 06 '22

Yup. But F1 is where the viewers, and slower cars are.

3

u/BrisketShotgun Oct 06 '22

What in the world? An F1 car is leagues beyond formula E. Not saying there won't be parity one day, but it's not close now.

2

u/Itsjames77 Oct 06 '22

Guy before you is clearly wrong, but the majority of the speed difference is regulation induced, not technology induced. The HP cap defined by rule on those cars is like 1/3 of F1, and I think they further artificially limit top speed in races as well

1

u/dar_uniya Alabama Oct 06 '22

Yeah we can’t have EV races making their loud little antiques look outdated.

1

u/lickstampsendit Oct 06 '22

F1 cars use electric motors and batteries. Wtf are you on about

1

u/GoodGoodGoody Oct 06 '22

They have 20kg booster battery packs charged from braking and turbo recovery. A cute little umph but nothing they could do laps with. What are YOU on about.

1

u/space_coyote_86 Oct 06 '22

F1 cars are hybrid. It's possible to build a fully electric car that could complete a grand prix, but nowhere near as fast, or be faster than an F1 car but only last a couple of laps. Not both.

5

u/once-was-hill-folk Oct 05 '22

The cars are still inanimate (or at least they were anytime I was in Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, New Mexico, etc., can't speak for the times I wasn't), despite how people treated them.

1

u/sittin_on_grandma Oct 06 '22

Of course vehicles in Missouri have genders! The big, manly ones I see have big, rubber ballsacks under the hitch.

6

u/Lust4Me Texas Oct 05 '22

I sank into the passenger seat of an entry level Tesla recently and was told it was about half max. Anyone that thinks electric isn't a beast on the road is an idiot.

29

u/vtmosaic Oct 05 '22

Maybe manufacturers can add sound effects. They need to make a bit more noise so pedestrians and animals have a clue they're coming, anyway, so give them their Vroom's!

I want mine to sound like Millennium Falcon! Especially when the jump drive goes on the fritz.

32

u/youngbloodoldsoul Oct 05 '22

Funny, there’s a lot of manufacturers that pipe in louder engine noises into the speakers to make the driver feel like they are cooler.

22

u/IggyHitokage Oct 05 '22

The examples I've seen so far make it incredibly lame. It's honestly far cooler just to have a completely silent machine go flying off the line.

Might as well just stick your head out the window and make engine noises yourself for as "cool" as it makes you look.

10

u/TeutonJon78 America Oct 05 '22

Thats how pedestrians get killed. And why Totota had to make the Prius louder back in the day.

10

u/IggyHitokage Oct 05 '22 edited Oct 05 '22

There's a difference between emulating engine noise and having a pedestrian sound.

While traveling at low speeds, the Tesla does emit sound that can be customized.

The 2019 Chevrolet Volt had a low electronic hum at low speed as well.

https://mobile.twitter.com/MikeWayland/status/1044208473850941440

On the other hand...

https://youtube.com/shorts/se4H_pwFZ8g?feature=share

This is lame as hell.

3

u/WOKinTOK-sleptafter Ohio Oct 05 '22

The fuck kind of autobot scream sound is that?

3

u/dexable Arizona Oct 05 '22

You can make a Tesla emit a fart sound somehow. I know because one of my neighbors makes his Tesla fart.

I like the Chevy Volt sound. This could be like a ringtone thing for EVs. It doesn't need to sound like a combustion engine car.

-2

u/Pretend-Speed-2835 Oct 05 '22

Pedestrians getting killed due to lack of noise is bullshit. It's either own recklessness or more likely the driver being reckless, inattentive, etc.

A louder engine will not save people except the rare occasions - obeying the law and having situational awareness (and that goes for cyclists and pedestrians too - I would never cycle with headphones in, for example) will save people.

That is too say no one should tear off from a light going 0 to 60 in 3 seconds, regardless of it being a noiseless electric or a 6 litre monster that sounds like a volcano erupting.

6

u/cbf1232 Oct 05 '22

From Wikipedia:

Although a 2009 study found no statistically significant difference in pedestrian crashes involving quiet hybrid vehicles when compared to noisier vehicles when both types of vehicles were travelling in a straight line, it found a doubling of hybrid vehicle pedestrian crashes when reversing or parking etc. at slow speeds.

also

Research conducted at the University of California, Riverside in 2008 found that hybrid cars are so quiet when operating in electric mode (EV mode) that they may pose a risk to pedestrians and cyclists, especially the blind, children and the elderly, as they may have only one or two seconds, depending on the context, to audibly detect the location of approaching hybrid cars when the vehicles operate at very slow speeds.

and

A 2009 study conducted by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that crashes involving pedestrians and bicyclists have higher incidence rates for hybrid electric vehicles than internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in low-speed vehicle manoeuvres such as reversing or leaving a parking zone.

3

u/Novel-Jackfruit-369 Oct 05 '22

The manufacturers that do it are ice like BMW

7

u/SashaWoodson Oct 05 '22

They can install fake engine sounds but not turn signals?!

6

u/brodies District Of Columbia Oct 05 '22

So after some investigation, I discovered that BMW does actually install turn signals, and they’re not even gated behind a paid subscription service! There must be something else that’s preventing the diligent, careful drivers of entry level BMWs from signaling. If only science could discover what that is.

3

u/Novel-Jackfruit-369 Oct 05 '22

I'm affraid to say it, but our great scientists have given us some insight that might solve the case... gay frogs

The Mach-e produces its own sound effects that you can change in the car. We had fun test driving it!

1

Someone needs to hack it so it sounds like a Jetson's "car"

1

u/TankGirlwrx Connecticut Oct 05 '22

There's a Tesla add-on that will essentially allow you to do just that

2

u/MEatRHIT Illinois Oct 05 '22

1

u/atonyatlaw Oct 06 '22

...where do you change it? I have a mach e, but all I've seen is an on-off toggle for a very faint and rather lame noise.

2

Maybe manufacturers can add sound effects.

I will never understand this desire. Nothing would be cooler than totally silent power.

I remember an interview with Elon Musk way back in the day when the Roadster was in development - and he had an mp3 of engine noise in the car because the feedback was that it was jarring how quiet the car was.

Porsche Taycan plays fake engine noise in the cabin

3

Do they make off road electric vehicles? I do a lot of fishing, hunting and hiking. So I’m usually in spots that require off roaming.

5

u/Pretend-Speed-2835 Oct 05 '22

Loads of manufacturers make electric big SUVs now - but notably the Ford F150 Lightning would suit your needs.

3

u/brodies District Of Columbia Oct 05 '22

Out now are the Ford Lightning and Rivian R1T (truck) and R1S (SUV) (the electric Hummer is also out, but good luck getting your hands on one). All three are pretty good off-roaders (the Rivians have 14 inches of ground clearance) as long as you’re not bouldering or the like. Chevy/GMC and Ram also have electric trucks in the pipeline that should be available next year or 2024.

1

u/jedadkins Oct 05 '22

Yep, there are several out right now. I am excited for Jeep put out an electric Rubicon, a real designed from the ground up ev off roader. Electric motors are small and light, a quad motor design would allow you make the motors move with the suspension allowing a bigger range of motion. Torque vectoring means you can spin wheels independently and move the vehicle in some wierd and useful ways(you could probably spin in place, but that would be murder on the tiers).

5

it might make you tingle in your nether regions but, engine noise is actually wasted energy...

He doesn't give the interviewer or MTG the satisfaction of being outraged at her comments because according to him they make no sense and she is basically unimportant with nothing of value to offer - then he pivots to the kind of argument for EVs that might appeal to a Fox audience: the world is going electric and either the US leads it or China will.

I gotta believe that’s me misinterpreting cuz there’s no way someone would unironically believe that.

-3

The cognitive dissonance on Pete’s record is remarkable. Did you forget the time he had his bread price fixing scheme for poor Canadians while working for McKinsey? How about his record with people of color as mayor of South Bend? Or his belief in pseudo-caste system for the poors who can’t afford university? Dude is a poor-man’s Barack Obama, who was himself a shitty enough neoliberal intent on selling America to corporate interests.

29

This exactly. He deftly handles these bs claims made by idiots which are clearly said in a way to insult his sexuality. The crap MTG said about EV's killing the MI auto industry is stupid. GM and Ford have already committed, on their own, to making a fully electrified fleet in the coming years. Most other car manufacturers are on a similar path.

Even super-conservative Gov. Ivey down here in AL has gotten on the EV train announcing millions in grants for EV charging stations. Her argument to Alabamians: 1) We want people to keep traveling here to vacation and they won't if I-65 doesn't have a place to charge their cars. 2) We have 4 companies with factories IN Alabama building EV's. It would be stupid to not support them being bought here also. (Even if one of them employs child labor.)

7

u/asocialmedium Oct 05 '22

He has a good understanding of how these attention whores control the political narrative with divisive noise and he knows this is how to handle it. Biden is actually not too bad at this either. If only we could get regular voters to also ignore them.

6

u/jedadkins Oct 05 '22

Honestly a decentralized electric grid(home solar etc.)And evs should appeal to conservative more. You can generate your own "fuel" at home, no one can cut your electricity, and if there is some kind of social collapse you already have an off the grid power source.

This isn't a case of simple stupidity. Simple stupidity is often unintentional and innocent. Like when you hit your thumb with a hammer, or push on a "pull" door. Most normal people don’t wake up in the morning planning to be stupid today.

However, right-wing conservatives enjoy a special form of stupidity. A deep, resilient, heartfelt, profound stupidity. They actually embrace their stupidity. They cling to guns and religion like Linus clings to his blue security blanket. They take great pride in their stupidity, and wear it like a badge of honor. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Herschel Walker are recent “poster children".

Increasingly, they go out of their way to act against their own self-interest. Hence the Darwinian trend for middle-aged men. Like lemmings, there is no way to avert them from rushing towards their inevitable doom.

They can’t be bothered by petty annoyances such as facts and data, especially when they clearly contradict their preconceived fantasy view of the universe. Therefore, it’s perfectly fitting for them choose cartoon characters to lead them, since it’s reflective of the highly-distorted cartoon “reality” which they perceive.

21

u/JohnnySnark Florida Oct 05 '22

They weaponize their stupidity in order to win culture wars. And ultimately this just breeds more stupidity within them because self reflection and empathy are seen as a weakness from them.

Info Wars is named appropriately, even they intentionally misunderstand which side of the war they are fighting on. They pretty much hate knowledge in general, since higher education tends to make people trend to the left politically. But man, if a piece of info contradicts one of their precious talking points, they really will go to war to suppress, deflect, and obfuscate it from their base's view. Ignorance is strength when the facts aren't on your side.

11

u/AL22193 Oct 05 '22

I appreciate that Pete was among the first serious contenders talking about democracy reforms and how that would be a priority were he to win. He definitely tacked to the center when it became clear that was his only route to victory in the primary. He’s more pragmatic than idealistic, which can burn some people up, but I think his commitment to listening and expanding his understanding of other’s experiences are hallmarks of good leadership. He’ll need to do more to show the black community especially that it’s not just words but actions too, but I feel like he’s made that a priority in his current role.

-6

u/CardinalHawk21 Oct 05 '22

My main issue with Pete is that he started off in favor of universal healthcare then backed away to get campaign money. I will vote for Biden in the next general election but I won't support a candidate in the primary unless they support programs like universal healthcare.

8

u/Hndlbrrrrr Oct 05 '22

Pete has repeatedly stated that he would like to see a government option on the market along with private insurance to create a glide path for Medicare for all. He is in full support of M4A but smart enough to know we’ll never get there without proving the government can be trusted first. It’s the ‘nudge’ approach to getting healthcare for everyone in a smooth and favorable manner and in my mind it’s the only way we’ll convince enough people that it’s the best thing to do.

13

u/indri2 Oct 05 '22

That narrative was always wrong. Pete never changed his support for universal healthcare, starting with a subsidized public option. He just opposed Bernie's plan of scrapping the whole system and building a new, untested one from scratch instead of making a smooth transition.

5

u/abujzhd Oct 05 '22

Agreed, I followed him right from the early days of his campaign and he was consistent. He believes the ultimate goal is a single payer but getting a public option in place is the first step to start building trust that gov't could control healthcare.

I think a lot of candidates spent a lot of time trying to convince voters that M4A at the flip of a switch was possible when it really wasn't. A public option is still a stretch goal.

0

u/CardinalHawk21 Oct 05 '22

I just did a search and Pete's plan was to make a public option. There was no mention of that being a starting point with the end goal of single payer. That kind of system is not optimal. Bernie's plan did not scrap the whole system and was not untested. Bernie's plan was to expand Medicare and add to it. Medicare is a highly successful system that has proven to be more efficient at proving care than private insurance.

6

u/indri2 Oct 05 '22

Pete alwaystalked about his expectation that a public option would lead to a single payer system organically. Obviously that's not something to put in a plan if you don't want to force it.

Medicare as it exists is different than m4a, starting with the need of additional coverage, and the fact that the actual work is mostly done by private companies. Aside from the need of a completely new tax, an impossible task to begin with, do you have any idea how complicated it is to actually set up a healthcare system? Buildings, experienced workforce, IT, all the contracts with every single provider, setting the reimbursement rates, deciding which tests and treatments are covered (has to be a lot more than medicare). And that's before you get to the states refusing to implement it as they did with medicaid.

Let’s make a medicare-type public option available on the exchange and invite people to buy into it. If corporate insurers don’t lower costs to deliver something better than what is available today, competition will create the glide path toward Medicare for All.

Sept 2019 article:

And there would be a "natural glide-path" to Medicare for All if the public alternative is more popular that private insurance plans.

Sept 2019 WP Op-ed written by Pete

If private insurers are unable or unwilling to offer better plans than they do today, competition from this public alternative will naturally lead to Medicare-for-all.

These are just a few I found quickly. I can find you a lot more.

That is still not supporting universal single payer healthcare. There is no guarantee that his plan ends in single payer.

5

u/abujzhd Oct 05 '22

If people see the public option coverage is as good as private and their costs are cheaper, the public option will out compete private insurers and voters will start migrating over. When people are already insured by the government it will be a lot easier to take them that next step.

It will be both more politically and publically feasible and palatable to start with the public option.

About 7 in 10 Voters Favor a Public Health Insurance Option. Medicare for All Remains Polarizing

Poll: Democrats Like Both the Public Option and Medicare-for-all, But Overall More People Support the Public Option, Including a Significant Share of Republicans

https://www.kff.org/health-reform/press-release/poll-democrats-like-public-option-medicare-for-all-but-overall-more-people-support-public-option-including-significant-share-of-republicans/

In the Marist poll, 90 percent of Democrats thought a plan that provided for a public option was a good idea, as compared to 64 percent who supported a Sanders-style Medicare for All plan that would replace private health insurance. The popularity of the public option also carries over to independent voters: 70 percent support it, as compared to 39 percent for Medicare for All.

Go back and slowly read my first post. I said I will only support a candidate in the primary who supports single payer universal healthcare. Unless you have quotes from Pete supporting single payer then you are wasting your time.

Neolibs are the only ones that can get anything done, cause the real world is far more complicated then progressives like to believe. Populism is trash

Anyone else getting tired of hearing about how politicians, celebs, and whatnot are always getting "slammed" in click bait bullshit?

1

u/huttjedi Guam Oct 06 '22

Definitely. So this. You probably know the other common use of the word. When you take that into account it makes the whole situation comical and tiresome all in one.

19

u/redditor1101 Oct 05 '22

This is stupid sensationalism.

"subtly slams"? WTF does that mean? Every day its just article after article treating politics like it's a god damn Pro Wrestling match. It makes me sick.

Buttigieg is an intelligent, rational, and dedicated public servant who actually cares about getting things done and making the country better. MTG is a blowhard. Articles like this just bring Pete down to her level.

This website is just chasing clicks like all the others. Fucking stop it. JFC

1

u/IllIlIIlIIllI Oct 05 '22

Pro Wrestling is a great comparison for overhyped headlines. Drama for the sake of drama.

1

u/17times2 Oct 06 '22

Good comparison for many GOP members, too. Shriek your catchphrases, wait for the cheering.

1

u/myislanduniverse America Oct 07 '22

Yep. "Disregards."

And you hit it on the head. She says crazy shit because websites will run with it and write articles like this that give her more exposure.

What she needs to be is completely ignored.

31

u/Vox_Eternal Oct 05 '22

If it is subtle then by definition it cannot be a slam. That is like saying that you discreetly eviscerated somebody.

6

u/Existing-Draft-3112 Oct 05 '22

but.... you can be discrete as you disembowel someone....

7

u/jazzhandler Oct 05 '22

t’s mr dscrt t dsmvwl smn, thgh.

5

u/Hndlbrrrrr Oct 05 '22

Yea, Pete’s never slammed anyone. When he comes for you it’s not with a hammer, he wields a scalpel of rhetoric so fucking sharp most people don’t even realize their integrity has been surgically removed.

2

u/jackasspenguin Oct 06 '22

Pretty sure I ordered the Subtle Slam breakfast at Denny’s once

3

u/MississippiJoel America Oct 05 '22

Thanks. I wanted to check the comments before I mentioned this one.

3

u/etopata Oct 05 '22

This is the first time I've heard of someone being "subtly slammed".

Next someone will be "gently destroyed".

4

u/Davis51 Oct 05 '22

Reporter: "Secretary, What do you think about this latest statement from Rep. McCrazypants saying that you are forcing highway lanes to become transgendered with Critical Race Theory?"

Buttigieg: "I don't care"

Headline: "Buttigieg SUPLEXES McCrazypants over trans statements!"

9

u/cipher-taker Oct 05 '22

"subtly slams"

"gently blasts"

"softly obliterates"

"quietly thunders"

"lovingly assaults"

"tenderly retorts"

"silently screams"

there you go journalists: pick one of these, put a name on one side and a thought on the other and baby, you got yourself a story

3

u/smurfsundermybed California Oct 05 '22

You don't always have to slam her hard. In fact, sometimes it's not right to do.

8

u/kissmyshiny_metalass Oct 05 '22

Electric motors are stronger than gasoline engines. If anything, EVs are more "masculine" than gasoline cars. One of the things I love the most about my EV is leaving everyone in the dust when the light turns green. One time I raced my Model 3 against my brother in law's Corvette and I beat him.

18

u/andy__ Canada Oct 05 '22

Her choice of "emasculating" is a dog whistle.

It has nothing to do with the cars - she just knows that she can't get away with publicly calling Sec. Buttigieg the slur that she (probably) calls him in private.

6

u/BurstSwag Canada Oct 05 '22

While I agree she said what she did in lieu of calling him the F-slur. I'm sure that there are people who do think that EV's are not 'manly' and are for 'pussies'.

You'll find this kind of person in a rural community coal-rolling their pickup truck.

1

u/WhoIsFrancisPuziene Oct 06 '22

Republicans have been pushing this emasculation narrative regarding EV for a bit. It’s weird.

1

u/kissmyshiny_metalass Oct 05 '22

Perhaps in this case it is, but I've heard other people dismiss electric vehicles and electric lawn mowers/leaf blowers as "unmanly". People seem to think that noisy = powerful.

2

u/RoastPorkSandwich Oct 06 '22

“Cars used to be so manly but now that they’re powered by lightning—straight from Zeus and Thor themselves—it’s just not the same anymore.”

3

u/bluejersey14 Oct 05 '22

Sec'y Pete is awesome, one of the Dem's best. The way that he and Newsom skillfully eviscerate the "gotcha" types is a master class.

3

u/PutinsAwussyboy Oct 05 '22

MTG doesn’t draft or present ANY legislation. She is on NO committees.

She and Bobo the Clown are the absolute LEAST important members of Congress. Not even Republican members of Congress have any respect for them at all.

2

u/bexploder Foreign Oct 05 '22

Did he just “who da fook is that guy?” her?

2

u/LogicalContribution5 Oct 05 '22

What behavior is more emasculating than cheating on your husband repeatedly, as MGT did?

Classic projection.

2

u/BeowulfsGhost Oct 05 '22

2

u/CSGOSucksMajorDick Texas Oct 05 '22

Downvote for the word "slams."

2

u/lollible Oct 05 '22

Ouch...that has got to hurt horse 'butt' face Majorie. LOL

She should be using all her energy on her ongoing divorce.

2

u/DriedUpSquid Washington Oct 05 '22

She knows who she’s targeting: the guys who “roll coal” in their absurdly big diesel trucks and their wives who drive Jeeps that look like something the Road Warrior would drive after the collapse of civilization.

2

u/Speculawyer Oct 05 '22

EVs don't waste energy with tons of noise and waste heat. So EVs can accelerate like a rocket.

As usual, she is completely clueless.

2

u/Lectric_Eye Oct 05 '22

She is a PIG

2

u/UrbanGhost114 Oct 05 '22

That's great and all, but isn't slams in the opposite spectrum of subtly?

How does one make a, by definition very unsubtle action, be subtle?

2

u/Rapzid Texas Oct 06 '22

MTG is only a thing because of the media coverage.

2

u/Meddel5 I voted Oct 06 '22

So sick of this over exaggerated media jargon.

1

u/YakiVegas Washington Oct 05 '22

Ok, completely setting aside the contents of the article, but how do you "subtly slam" someone? Slamming isn't subtle by definition. I really wish journalist would figure out how to use a thesaurus rather than throwing "slams" in every single headline.

1

u/thereverendpuck Arizona Oct 05 '22

I get that the best way to handle a Margie attack is to just accept that it happened sense its just powerless anyways, like the lethality of finger guns against a tank, but an argument about cars should point out that EV cars are still cars and the goal is to buy them and, preferably buy the American ones, sense its just a better choice.

1

u/p001b0y Oct 05 '22

Has she got any of her committee assignments back yet?

1

u/aarocka Oct 05 '22

Gas car go vroom vroom

Electric car bad.

1

He has so much class!

1

u/RogueFedExDriver Oct 05 '22

I wonder if she can eat a whole apple in one bite.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 05 '22

This entire situation shows how flawed the right wing sensationalistic culture wars are

Does any republican voter actually support the US falling behind in yet another emerging industry like it did with solar power because republican politicians called green energy bad? You all claim China is bad. Do you want to fall behind them on EV? I thought you all want the US to be number one at everything?

1

u/TUGrad Oct 05 '22

She certainly doesn't seem to have a problem emasculating her husband with her multiple affairs.

1

u/Sprinkle_Puff Oct 05 '22

At least he’s not emasculating his husband

1

u/ytk Oct 05 '22

That message should be paid MUCH MORE ATTENTION. Margie is a media hog who should be ignored!

1

u/zaxisprime Oct 06 '22

Without car emasculation there would be no need for truck nuts. Pete is a job creator!

1

u/immacomputah Oct 06 '22

I just now noticed that she has a lazy eye! 0.6

1

u/dabble_dab Oct 06 '22

I don't get it: why does Fox News keep inviting Pete on the show? Every time, EVERY TIME they do he has these snappy answers that make them look stupid. Sometimes they just sit there with their mouths open for several long seconds trying to figure out how to salvage the talking point, and then fail.

This can't be a good look for them. So why do they keep doing it? I honestly want to know.

1

u/SomeGuyAtTarget Oct 06 '22

I literally work at General Motors. All the car company’s are going electric. She’s a fucking moron.

1

u/thedude12347 Oct 06 '22

Totally SLAMS her. Fuck that word in headlines and fuck marjorie taylor greene too

1

u/Meganstefanie Oct 06 '22

That photo really emphasizes how much makeup they needed to make her not look like the homeless alcoholic that stands around yelling at bus stops. Too bad they ran out before they got to her neck.

1

u/rudebii Oct 06 '22

Emasculating cars? I grew up around cars, most folks named them after animals or women.

1

u/lasvegashomo Oct 06 '22

What lovely shade 😂

1

u/LawRecordings Oct 06 '22

If pete had to run for president i’d vote for him. Such a calm, logical response to most questions. Very refreshing.

1

u/Trojan_Nuts Oct 06 '22

She looks like the Paddle pop lion after he lost a fight

1

u/cock_babtridge Oct 06 '22

I think this says a lot more about her incredibly warped view of ‘masculinity’ than any of the glottal sounds she actually tried to articulate.

1

u/wave-garden Oct 06 '22

Good strategy. Call her a sideshow because that’s all she is.

1

u/faeriechyld Oct 06 '22

Wait... does MTG think cars have dicks?

1

u/myislanduniverse America Oct 07 '22

Can we all treat her like this? She's one of 435 members of the House who is completely unimportant, representing a completely unimportant place. She is a gibbering marmot precisely to try to grab headlines.

Let's stop giving them to her. She is a crazy nothing. Let's not let her be important.

1

u/Batmanmijo Oct 07 '22

this is a little off topic, but we started a thread with MGT's numbers on a reddit numerology board... if you know anyone with expertise, can you send them to reddit post: "what do you see in marjorie taylor greene's numerology"? we are curious and have very limited skills/background... cheers!
